I dont want to wait 2 years if they ever decide to release it on PC, i wont buy console either just to play one game. Great, hype's all gone!
I'm lucky, I have a PS4 I bought for "all those exclusives", so far I played The Last of Us: Remastered and Uncharted 4 and it's sat in my summerhouse gathering dust! At least it'll get used next year with this and hopefully Day's Gone.
It's the same thing they did with RDR. Announced for consoles, everyone "assumed" it would come to PC later since that's what happens with GTA. It never showed up. I'm kind of betting they will do the same here. Wanting to keep RDR as a console only series.
Apparently the development/coding of RDR was such a mess it made a remaster/PC port impossible. No idea how much foundation there is in the following:
I wouldnt mind getting it but my PS3 turned into Netflix/Prime video player after Uncharted 3. So annoying Suppose now i can buy PS4 for uncharted, red dead and NHL. At least few games!
I think we know what is the deal, PC sales are crap compared to consoles. GTA V on old-gen consoles in first month sold around 30 million copies. GTA on next-gen consoles in first month sold around 8 million copies. GTA V on PC in first month in first month sold around 2 million copies. Correct me if I am wrong. And Red Dead kinda started on consoles and newer came out on PC, while GTA series started on PC and I think R* is still oblidged to release a PC version.
If that's true and the new one does come to PC, yay for those interested. But, personally, without the previous title(s) my interest level is basically zero. I don't like only having part of a series. I hate it about HALO... absolutely despise it about Gears of War.
My bet would be at this time they are either in talk's, or already locked into some form of console exclusivity deal, so even if a PC version is on the card's, they won't even broach the subject until the exclusive deal is finished, but i think we can say after the 2 milion GTAV sales on the PC that this will happen, Rockstar are not going to ignore such a lucrative market, well they will, but just for two years after the game is released on console.
Like others have said already, afaik GTAV sold quite well on PC making GTAV a complete success across all platforms. I also assume it would be cheaper and easier to develop for all platforms simultaneously rather than separately?
This doesn't bother me at all as long as the PC port (if we get one) is as good as GTAV, too many rushed PC ports that run like crap these days, Rockstar really nailed it with GTAV even if it did arrive later than consoles.
They will repeat the triple dipping gauging technique they successfully played with GTAV. Some people bought it on more than one platform after the next version was released - PS3/Xbox 360 - PS4/Xbox One - PC. I will not be surprised if the PC version comes a year or so after the versions for PS Neo and XB Scorpio are released.
Practically every game ever was made on a pc, that's a nonsense point. Developed on and made for are different things. Anyway, pretty much all RS games have come out on pc later from first release.
You knew this was coming hehe. https://www.change.org/p/rockstar-g...-2-on-pc-071822ef-c66c-4a45-9b97-e218d264c34b
They're trying to maximize their profit. They realized a lot of PC users bought GTA 5 on the console and then bought it again on the PC later. Here's one person that won't buy RDR2 on the console.
