Would my frames be lower? should I get a 1060 6gig?

    Ow my eyes.
Benchmarks are important, even those who own the cards in question would find benchmarks valuable to confirm their suspicious. Don't make a big purchase off of anecdotal evidence.

1060 6GB significantly would be slower then 780 SLI, assuming SLI is functioning. SLI support sucks which is annoying. A single 1060 6GB is marginally faster then a 780, pretty much a side-grade.

The 480 is slower then the 1060 in DX11 games, and faster in DX12 games. But in the end, still not an appealing upgrade for the same reasons.

1060 6GB and 480 is not a significant enough upgrade. Unless you don't mind losing some performance (about 20%) in favor of more VRAM and DX12.

Highly recommend saving up for a 980 Ti or 1070.

Pretty much what he said, not worth it and just save up for a 980 Ti/1070.
You could try find a used 980 Ti though if you can.

That's not true. 1060 is very close to 980 performance, around 25%-30% more performance than 780.

For OP, I would buy 1070 or not do anything.

If you are going to upgrade - get a 1070 or better.
Anything else is realistically not worth it.

I think you could get almost enough money out of those to get on 980 ti second hand or new 1070. Better options. Else you will lose performance in some titles with 1060 or 480 even tho both are good cards.
