    Noob question

Hi, I am an utter novice at tweaking anything on my PC. My daughter has a laptop with an Nvidia card and uses Solidworks. I found a posting saying that Solidworks could be significantly improved by making the following changes using NI.

    Nvidia defaults to:
    Profile "Dassault Systemes SolidWorks"
    ShowOn Quadro

    If you change this to:
    Profile "Dassault Systemes SolidWorks"
    ShowOn Geforce
    ProfileType Application
    Executable "solidworks/circuitworksfull/circuitworks.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/driveworksxpress/driveworksxpressdt.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/solidworks edrawings/emodelviewer.exe"
    Executable "edrawings/emodelviewer.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/photoview/photoview360_cl.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/photoview/photoview360.exe"
    Executable "photoview 360/photoview360.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/sldbenchmarking/sldbenchmark.exe"
    Executable "i386_sldworks.exe"
    Executable "sldworks.exe"
    Executable "solidworks/sldrx/sldrx.exe"

I think I understand how to add executables to the profile (thanks to your manual) and how to modify settings. However, a bunch of the settings do not appear in the list in NI. Also, the post above gives me the impression that the modification could be done with a simple copy paste. Is that correct? If so, where can I do that?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi there,

Any idea why with a GTX 1060, Nvidia Inspector doesn't read any voltage value? It is a flat 0 mV line.

Could not tell you sorry. This is for Nvidia Profile Inspector more specifically.
    You'd have to contact Orbmu2k

    Hey MrBonk,

I have a Nvidia Settings Problem with Vsync.

I have a 120HZ Monitor and want to play with 60FPS smooth on my pc with the option 1/2 Vsync that i turned on in Nvidia Inspector.

For some reason when i start the game in Fullscreen or Exclusive Fullscreen like Rise of the Tomb Raider, i have still unlimited and non constant FPS.

What i do wrong that i cant Cap them at 60 with Vsync?

    Would appreciate your help!

I have the newest driver and Inspector Version aswell.

Are you sure you are applying the setting to the correct game profile? (Silly question, but it can't hurt to look in Task Manager to see if the game .exe running when playing is the one listed in the profile)
Assuming you are using the DX11 version of the game. In Exclusive Full Screen it should work without issue.

Are the changes to the profile sticking ? (Apply changes. Quit inspector, restart it and check it again. If not, try maybe downloading the old 1.7.3 version and try that)

This is a bad suggestion, but try setting 1/2 refresh on the global profile and see if that works too.

Is it possible to create a custom 60hz resolution as well?

Is there a newer version of Inspector than 1.9.7.6? The current one ain't exactly compatible with Pascal.

Nvidia inspector AFIK is no longer updated. What's the use it offers over any other OC utility?

DX12 is new and Nvidia's drivers aren't probably completely finished for that.
Fast Sync for example is not available in DX12 either yet.

Are the "Frame Rate Limiter v2" settings better in some way than the normal settings ("[~] 160.6fps")?

Are you comparing to the old 1.7.3 version ?

AFIK the change is within the driver, so the values in 1.7.3 probably won't match up with what is actually being limited. I haven't extensively tested either in recent memory since the change

372.54 broke the freedom in changing fps higher than 58 whilst vsync forced on. It can't go any higher than 58 fps ([~]59.7 fps) via limiter. I can choose 60 ([~]61.8fps) or higher like 120 though profiler's gui, but no effect. Did a complete reinstall with DDU, went back to 368.81, even lower version, even used my EVGA install card disc. Same problem. Never updated to windows 10 anniversary (since i can't even) nor updated the profiler, but i even tried that... no luck.

BTW, before even touching 372.54, Serious Sam II in-game used to read 62fps when I had my cap set to 60 ([~]61.8fps from profiler's fps limiter gui while forced vsync) and ran smooth. While vsync forced on, I was able to cap it at any number even at 120fps. Now, In game Serious Sam II reads 60fps, but it's really 58fps. In short, it's safe to say that vsync is stuck at 58 ([~]59.7 fps) The results are unnecessarily random stuttering.

The behavior of the limiter changed some time ago, wouldn't be surprised if it changed again. You'd have to contact Orbmu2k about that. Sorry.

    Try this:
First enter the desired fps value, e.g. 130. Then hit apply to let the profile editor convert decimal value to hex. Then change the first number after the x to f, e.g. 0xf0000082 for 130fps limit.
Edit: Some values won't give the exactly desired fps though, you might have to try around a bit.
Edit 2: Ok, seems like values below 60 are simply not working anymore. Probably Nvidia have to fix this.
Edit 3: This is at least with windowed mode. Full screen exclusive works fine for me, even with Vsync.
