Well its the 12th and wasn't available before I went to work a few hours ago. Seems they will take the latest occurrence of the "12th" they can get away with lol. Guess i'll be checking these forums every 5 min today.
Yea its the 12th here in the UK in 2 hours ( also my birthday so Hello Games better deliver ). No pre-load yet on Steam and store page says the game will unlock in approximately 20 hours. Something tells me the PC version is basically duct taped together but I hope I'm wrong.

Haha.... Swagasaurus Rex. But yea.... i DEFINITELY see a lot of people taking a LOT of screenshots of this game. Really f*cking stupid about the lack of pre-loading. So not only do we have to wait 3 days past when it was playable on PS4, we have to wait til halfway through the day, AND can't even pre-load it so we can play right away? Glad i have a 60 Mbit connection.
Finally some bloody intel on the time. Their download servers will crash, as well as 'galaxy' servers. We got to beat consoleros, we need more than 1 million discoveries in the first 24 hours! I decided to give the game a try... I just hope it catches me, I would so much want to like this game... we shall see if they helped me with it, or... c:
More of a exploration game than building and surviving with procedural generation for planets and different creatures though I'd imagine a lot of places will look a bit "samey" after a while unless they have a ton of different assets to use which for a 2.6 GB game doesn't seem too likely but eh I might be wrong.
I think they said the PC size was 2.6 GB, could just mean the compressed preload files though. EDIT: Or not, apparently there is no PC version preload. Steam downloads are compressed.. the game should be close to about 6gb when installed. I am happy to be proven wrong.... not long now.
Yeah Steam can compress even full downloads, it varies from game to game as some engines compress better (Unity for example.) whereas others are already fairly well compressed and can't be packed better. EDIT: As for this game I am somewhat interested but I plan on picking it up later and probably via a discount or similar sale (Steam version preferably as GOG isn't quite as convenient with updates and such, yet.) and I also want to see what they'll bring in via future updates, some type of crafting should be in the next large update as I understood it for example.
