You are kidding right...I owned them both, the difference @1600p maxed is huge...this is the silliest compare ever made max oc 980 vs stock 1070 and even not close...
    Max oc 980 made 75fps in heaven 24/7 1070 makes 110+

Question I have just flashed my GTX 1070 MSI X 8Gb with an other bios I have found on TechPowerUp site It is the same bios version as I already had. The top one I have used https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=&manufacturer=MSI&model=&interface=&memType=&memSize=&did=10de-1b81-- Now have I run 3Dmark and here are the results ! Left is with the newer bios and right with the stock bios http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/9716686/fs/9715211#

Can somebody explain me how this is possible ?

Update back on stock bios just for safety :)

How are you still on this forum when all you do is piss on every nVidia thread with nothing but BS?

The difference between the 980 and 1070 will be massive. My 970 oc was faster than a stock 980. The 980ti, which is comparable to the 1070 absolutely destroys it.

BTW, linking some youtube video as proof of anything is just naive.

The difference in the video is ~12% between 980 OC and 1070. You can generally get another ~12% out of overclocking the 1070. So it's about 25% faster when both are overclocked, which is basically identical to the 980 vs 980Ti.

I don't know if 25% is "huge boost" but it's certainly a decent boost.

Concerning the previous discussions about the VRMS and heat.. I had my 980ti watercooled using the KrakenG10 with copper finns on the Vram and Vrams and cooled by its own 92mm fan plus direct chassis fans..
Highest temps were 60 ish after 5 hours overclocked gaming on The Division, no compliants, crashing or restarts. My Recon fan controller had a thermometer connected to the back on the PCB and my fans would kick in if the temps went to 60 and above

I might do the same to my new PNY 1080 jetstream but try and keep the backplate on

Guy made a comparison i just posted a video. Difference wasnt massive as one said, especially with heavy overclocked 980. Jeez, what pissing you talking about? You are the one going around looking for trouble and calling people trolls if they dont agree with you.

And yeah, im gonna start reporting you for that language.

+ 0.2 % is nothing, update it with official "OC" bios if you haven't already

You are an AMD troll. End of story. Your only purpose in this thread is to flame and derail. Get out of here before someone makes you.

    Gents,

The two of you will need to make a decision on if you want to be part of the Guru3D forums. You are both continuously pushing and trolling each other and it is bringing these forums down. You guys are all here sharing the same passion, hardware. Please try and find a way to stop rubbing each others faces in the dirt, else I do not see this go anywhere positive.

Undying, I warned you last week as well. There will not be a next warning.

I really hope we can make an agreement and stop fighting becouse i dont want anyone to leave this forum.

That mod works on almost any Geforce Card (GTX 680 >) ... also conductive paint is a good replacement if you can't find liquid metal
