I got my ASUS for $429 last week, just hard to find cause they're selling out like crazy. Will post pictures later.

Anyone else having fps issues? I hit 99% GPU usage in a few of my games at 1080p(GTAV 40-80fps 2xmsaa, Witcher 3 60fps). I know people will point to the 8320, but it maybe hits 90% usage(75% average) on one of the cores in the same games. Cpu bottleneck would be at 100% CPU usage, right?

What kind of frame rates are you getting with your card? Are the games that you play have any kind of noticeable stutter? It is very possible that your CPU is holding back the 1070 a bit preventing the 1070 to be used to its fullest potential. Also if you apply a more hefty OC to your FX 8320 to like 4.7/4.8ghz you might be able to counter act the bottleneck somewhat.

Not all cards OC the same. Some people got cards that OC very well Others not so much. With my R9 290 card it was OC'ed to 1000/1300 out of the box which is around R9 290X numbers but it wouldn't go much past those numbers. My card is a Sapphire card.

Other AIB cards also deliver more than the founders edition, but when i get a card that scores 1000 points on more firestrike graphics score, and costs 40 euros less, that leads to dissatisfaction. I always wanted to own an MSI card actually, and was looking so much forward to that card.

Pretty much, but they could just do like Palit. Golden Samples, super jetstream, sell for 20 euros more. And you get over 2ghz out of the box. MSI could've done the same with their Gamer X edition, considering how much more it costs, than all other ones aside from gigabyte extreme.

Yea well, all coolers deliver this time around, all run silent, and have 0 fan mode, and almost all of them have LED lights. It all comes down to who asks for less. Actually i went for msi because everyone was bragging of how much oc they have gotten with the card. I had 1925 out of the box and 1936 max overclock.

I have yet to see a 1070 that doesn't go above 2GHz (no matter FE/AIB), just because your Gainward is 2050MHz out of the box, doesn't mean it has much headroom left for more (but by all means, I hope it does, lucky you if so!).

My MSI too had ****ty 1936 or something stock boost, but does 2063/9410MHz 100% stable (even more for some games/benchmarks).

And funny enough, here at least, the Gainward was for a long time significantly more expensive than MSI (now they're closer, but Gainward is still a bit more expensive).

So no, neither are bad, it's just you being pissed at MSI.

I can try, at 4.5Ghz is freezes on sleep but that's in offset mode, i get maybe 45-100fps in GTA with advanced settings off and 2xMsaa, but the benchmarks are at 150fps. I noticed a stutter in Witcher 3. It would instantly go from 10fps to 60 when i enter the game, and even if i don't move the mouse, the frames fluctuate and drop to 45 and right back to 60, but upgrading to Windows 10 seemed to help.
I guess it'd have to be CPU cause it's not much of a performance difference from my 970. But if it was the CPU, wouldn't the usage be maxed out? Either way, i'm upgrading soon..

2105/9400 so far. Will test more, on the weekend. And my msi didn't go beyond 1936, tried to overclock it, but it just wouldn't go beyond 1936, anything over it ended up in a crash. So yea i am mad at MSI, card looked really pretty. :(

I dont get why you people OC this card.
Its awesome for 1440p but not good for 4K and you already know it before buying. So, if you`re playing 4K, why dont buy a 1080 in first place?

For more performance. Also you can do 4k with the 1070 if you lower the eye candy and don't care about graphics.

with just around stock gtx titanx or tiny bit faster I can tell you even at 1440p it will get tough at times.. By specific games and settings.
So dont expect any miracles, even 1080gtx is not special enough. New TitanX or 1080Ti is a good start.. But at what cost heh

Imo in y2017 Nv Volta and AMD Navi/maybe even Vega will be those dream Dx12 gpus worth them hard earned pennies :D

Very possible. The only thing that I am expecting out of the 1070 it being faster than my r9 290 card.

No overclock, fan speed auto.
Huge improvement over 670 Sli so I'll leave it there for the time being, really happy with it.

Finally tested Dying Light before work with my OC and yes it crashed lol didn't try to lower the settings but it crashed in 10 mins but Far Cry 3 lasts with it. I'm going back to stock OC anyways but I'l tweak alil more and see where a stable clock with that game goes.

But I was getting 85-93fps even with enb mod attached in game :) made me happy to see such fluid performance. Can't wait til No Man's Sky even though I think I'll be paying to much for it.:infinity:

When I get my card. I am going to try the auto OC feature that EVGA offers with their software and see if the bugs have been fixed since alot of time has passed since the reviews of the card have been done. Considering when the reviewers tried to use that feature it crashed the software.

Hm, that definitely sounds like a faulty card (the MSI one), good thing you returned it.

2105MHz on core on the Gainward is awesome though.
