Imo too small for 4k. This size is more appropriate for 1440p.

Hilbert... A little booboo in the text: 51000 Yen is about 483.38 dollar. Not 4992 dollar. ;)

    Definitely. I would personally prefer a 30" even for 1440p. But a 4K under 30", no way.

Naah... I'd rather see scaling improved. I want to make use of that higher PPI for better text rendering, not to gain more space. This is a perfect size for 4K.

I have Asus PG278Q ROG Swift, its a 27 screen, and honestly after using it for some time, id love it to be bigger. 30at least, 32-34 Curved IPS would be perfect. But oh well I can keep dreaming, and my wallet is shouting at me again. :nerd:

Exactly this! I want to get the same awesome looking monitor screens as we do on mobile phones! 720p screen on a mobile has way more ppi than a 24" 4K monitor but a 1440p mobile screen looks soooo much better than a 720p one so it does matter. We only need to get better text and font scaling.

To small u lose detail by it to much.

    +1

I have a 43" 4K set and I would say below 32" is way too small. Major text issues will occur in many games as they aren't ready for 4K (no scaling).

27 - 32 inch for 4k is what I'm after with 144Hz and some kind of Freesync motion blur reduction system. Perhaps in some form panel that improves on the failings of current IPS ones. OLED is way to expensive....

Personally I can extremely easily see detail and would find 4k in a 27" panel to still be lacking in an ideal world, even if still very nice compared to the shameful 1080 panels @ 60Hz we have been subjected to for so long.
    - (I've been holding out for an ideal panel too long now lol )

Probably going to buy a stop gap 1440 144Hz IPS panel in the next day or so, then hope for a really nice release next year maybe with good Quantum Dot tech included.

Yeah i'm on Dell U2711 for ages now, and while it is perfect ppi size/resolution, I still wouldn't mind a 30" 1440p high refresh rate monitor.

No I don't. 1080p 23" screen is horrible to look at. The PPI should be at least twice than that. It would benefit font rendering a lot.

For me and others its to small for gaming, 27inch 1440p is good and 32 inch for 4k or 34 inch is perfect.

18mm bezels? Technology appears to be regressing where display housing is concerned.

We should be seeing 8mm bezels. :(

The table says one HDMI port but the text below the table says two HDMI ports.

Definitely...what I want is a 29"-30" @ 1600P 16:10 for $300-$400....That's as high in res as I want to go at the moment...! Apple-crapple started all of this tiny monitor-jammed pixels nonsense, imo, with their 15" 2880x??? resolutions--talk about useless...;) Ugh.

I had a 24 inch 4k Monitor for a few days and it was so borderline for me that i send it back... basically, if i sat upright i could read any text unscaled at about 28 inch distance to the monitor, if i was in comfy position about 2-4 inches further away i couldn't anymore.

In these days i researched and tested away and i came to an easy conclusion, a perfect, easy to remember rule of thumb: if ya got the average 20/15 vision, then take your usual distance to your monitor and that's the size of 4k monitor you want.

I came to this conclusion when i stumpled upon an article on Pugetsystems named "Can you see the difference with a 4K monitor?", which has a decent enough scientific explanation including formulas and a google spreadsheet to play around with. Of course my conclusion came in combination with trying working programs, browsing the internet, watching movies and playing games. I could apply the theoretical in praxis.

So in short, i agree with Anarion and this Monitor at 27 inches is good for people with a slim desk (~28 inch distance to monitor) like i got.

It's nearly useless on a phone screen but I have to say 4K is fantastic for PC. All of the native windows based text looks amazingly crisp. Viewing the internet is really nice, many pictures (on main webpages I browse) are much higher resolution than I'd realized. The games that play well and scale up look really great and you don't need heavy AA.

There are growing pains though. Some games still aren't scaling the interface properly so you can end up with some amazingly small text. I'm using a 43" 4KTV about 2 feet from my face. I can't imagine what using a 27" 4K monitor would be like for those text/interface issues.

As far as crisp graphics though, 4K is ridiculously sharp compared to 1080p and that would look amazing on a 27" (if everything else scaled properly).
