Moved from 2x970's, and can safely say will never look back ;)
Less noise, more performance, and the extra VRAM definitely helps.

    lol nice find!!

"The overclocked GTX 1080 FE is 38% faster than a GeForce GTX TITAN X. The GTX 1070 FE overclocked is 11% faster, again for only $449 vs. $1000."

they seriously compare a non-OC titan x vs a 1070/1080 OC and put a price comparison into the same picture??

    the implications made...1070 ... faster...for only $449 vs $1000 ....
    sad.

apart from making all titan x buyers feel ripped off (which they have been ofc) this comparison implies people would rather overclock a freshly bought 1070/1080 than a TITAN X ?!?!?

that's the way it should be compared

    https://snag.gy/AZyJwG.jpg

both cards oc'd give 6% (in this example ~3FPS) performance gain for the 1080 OC vs TITAN X OC

i agree. OC the hell out of the titan x like everyone is doing with the 1080's and 1070's then compare. Don't compare a stock clocked titan x to overclocked cards. Being a titan owner myself nvidia has really screwed me over. I can't sell the cards i have now because the 1080 "IS FASTER THAN THE TITANS!". Still. Both my titans can run any game right now at 1440p. Of course i have flashed both bios with skynet bios and can overclock pretty well. No where near the 2ghz the 1080 is reaching. At this point the 1080 does't appeal to me. Will wait for the 1080ti. I do not game at 4k but i did just buy a Samsung KS8000 4k tv yesterday so that could change. lol.

I do know i will never buy a titan again with nvidia's attitude towards titan owners.

both titans @1179mhz. Nvidia driver 368.22.

It's a marketing trick for the masses, of course they're saying,oh look it beats a 1000 $ GPU, Hurr durr. Nobody buys a titan cause of it's price perf ratio. So nobody should get offended.

I think I have a problem with my gtx 1080 Palit gamerock, I can't reach 19000 point in 3dmark fire strike the maximum with overclocking gpu and cpu is 17852 points

GTX 1080 PAlit Gamerock (non premium) GPU @ +210 GPU offset and +550 Memory offset
    I5 6600k @4.6

If you're talking about the overall score then your CPU aka Physics test pulling you down.

Btw, what OC did you have on the gpu during the test?

look at the screenshot, it is for the firestrike benchmark in normal mode not in extrem.
GPU clck 1855 and the boost push it at 2ghz
and the memory is at 1389
    My CPU is @4.6ghz
If you check guru3d test of a normal gtx 1080 FE it should be around 19k

You have an i5 , hyperthreading influences a lot the score in 3dmark, not so much in real world gaming. You're fine.

HH is using 5960X for his reivew. You cant compete your scores with that.

I've asked Hilbert a few times to switch to GPU score and not overall but at least he includes a screenshot now.

Your actual gpu score is ~300-700 points higher than Hilbert's GTX 1080 custom cards reviews.

And obviously as mentioned by other members CPU Physics is the reason for "lower" overall score compared to HH reviews.

Your card is performing excellently.

i imagine this score is awesome for a FE 1080 with a blower type of fan

Thanks guys for all your comment, i'm very glad that my card is good :p , I have another question, do you think that my card (parlit gamerock ) can be modded to a gamerock premium edition, I find the bios of the clock of a premium edition

    Gamerock Premium edition

    Gamerock standard edition

I only saw the difference in the clock by default, if so i thing uploading a premium bios will be ok ? What do you think ? thanks

So I got my MSI Aero OC edition 1080 today. I actually did want a blower style cooler, and since it was almost $100 cheaper than the FE card, and was in stock I ordered it on Sunday from CompSource. Came in this morning.

Is this a good score for my specs? I have not and don't plan on doing any overclocking to the card.

I wouldn't. It will most likely be compatible, but if there are board changes like for example a different PWM controller then it will be problematic, just wait for bios tweaking tools or something, or overclock manually.
