    Watts/Volts = Amps

So if your 600 watt PSU puts 500 to a single 12v rail, you've got 41.67 amps.

In five months this card will be at the same position probably, where currently is gtx 970. Isn't $450 too much?

    So since Guru3D offices aren't located in 'Murica(wild guess=America), I guess it's fine. :D

I guess you wouldn't have enjoyed the good old Voodoo Extreme days. ;)

    Thanks for all the work!

Those cards are topping the charts!!! I kinda miss the sub-HD era... :pc1:

Lol, well Koniakki, your defense doesn't make much sense. Nehaxak, and Ryu5uzaku's dictionary definition say that the slang for semen is outside of USA. You should have said "So since Guru3D offices aren't located in England, I guess it's fine".

Truth be told though, I've heard the word used in both ways equally out and about here in PA. So while it's true that context matters more, I can understand someone cringing at the use of the word. Like moist, and soggy.

I don't see how it will not affect GTX 980TI.It cost 350$,while 980Ti cost 600$,its faster than 980Ti and has more memory than 980Ti,its cooler,it is made in 16nm and require only one 8 pin connector, lower TDP. So basicly 980Ti should cost like 200$ if we look at performance/cost ratio

That's a bit of an exaggeration. Stay realistic, if the 980Ti was $200 I would be driving to Microcenter right now.

Look at this review of an overclocked 980ti vs 1070 and you'll understand.

    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Nvidi...als/GTX-1070-Benchmarks-Test-Preis-1196360/2/

I'm not saying prices in stores won't go down, used prices won't go down by much. 980Ti is still faster when overclocked, so you certainly won't be seeing used 980Ti selling for $350 and stuff

I have no idea where you got $200, that's ridiculous. I'd be surprised if it goes to $400, let alone $200

I know it's an exaggeration, but no one would ever buy new GTX 980TI even for 400$ if he can get 1070 for 350$.So basically,980Ti is dead fish.

Nah, my defense/reply was as valid as his thought/reasoning that Guru3D is located in 'Muricas which obviously implied HH is located in 'Muricas and that he thinks that he lives in the center of the world and don't mind/care for the rest of the world and that's why he's using that word in his reviews.
It was clear as day for me.

I know, I'm over-exaggerating and over-blowing this a bit but at the moment only these thoughts come to mind and can't offer a better explanation.

I'm bit sleep deprived so please excuse me if I offend anyone but I do take full responsibility of my words.

    1070 won't be $350...

It's $380 MSRP for normal non-FE. In EU this will translate to around 450 euros with VAT.

I personally wouldn't mind spending ~500 and getting an extra 10-15% performance (and 2GB less ram)

DOOM (2016) Final Benchmarks (really seems to favor 980ti for some reason)

I must admit seeing the price and performance of GTX 1070 that I should have waited a bit longer before upgrading my graphics card.

The GTX 1070 is basically a 980 Ti for considerably lower price. Okay granted, overclocked the 980 Ti pulls ahead but not by so much to justify the difference in price I think.
Assuming this card will retail for around 500 EUR ofc.

    Damn...

That being said, the 1070 will be even faster 3-4 months from now due to Driver Updates.

Poor shops who got 980 Ti's in stock they can't get rid of...

It'll retail for under 500eur, my guess is 419 eur and upwards for AIB cards. Still, you have a nice card, enjoy it man.

Yea nothing wrong with the 980 Ti, it's just this was one of those cases regarding PC hardware where waiting would have actually paid off ;)

Meaning as opposed to start waiting and you'll just wait forever as there's always something better etc.

But my motive was to skip Pascal/Polaris anyway and so I shall.

    Nice review as always HH.

Not worth an upgrade for me just yet while still @ 1080 but interesting non the less.

HH you are like me when it comes to PSU's. Even if my system only uses 400w i still want an 800w PSU because us clever bastards understand about 50% efficiency. ^^

    Hi all!
    GREAT Review HH as usual...
Now I become impressed with this card. Really outstanding performance, better than 980ti??? I really dont understand...
I wish AMD will take place to fight well against the 1080 with the Polaris and HBM2 but now with this 1070 things will be more difficult to increase the market share...
Other strong point is the overclock power of this new Pascal 16nm. With the customized versions will be easy to put it at 2100-2200Mhz.

    Bottleneck

Hello Masters Gurus, I have a quick dumb question for you all.

Will my PC bottleneck a GTX 1080 or GTX 1070?
    How about GTX 10xx SLI?

    -> PC: i7 3770k (no OC), Sabertooth z77, Win 10 and 850W psu, SLI GTX 780

    TYVM!
