If anyone has a 960 or a 970, or knows someone with one of those cards, please stand in this spot with the Medium preset at 1920x1080:

This is the very first room in the game. Where you wake up.
That way we can finally confirm if both hardware performs the same at Medium quality.

That begs the question, did the beta and alpha have maxed shadows in lesser then 4K? :) Because the drop in performance is silly.

Finished the game with 30fps. Sometimes it was 20 and in very rare cases it was 60. Any news about Vulkan update?

It's great and fast(SP was 13h for me). Old-school shoter, like first doom. Run and kill.
    Doom 3 was different.

Tiago Sousa himself said that the settings used during Alpha/Beta was a mixture of low and medium IIRC.

Lol, Roy says that he runs crossfire, while AMDcare reacts to his tweet that crossfire is not working yet. Very bad from Roy to start tweeting about him running crossfire while it actually does not work, or maybe AMDcare is better at its job than they know themselves and Crossfire already magically works?

Roy is the definition of a bad marketer and a bad thing for AMD in general. He also blocked me on Twitter when I sent him the 300 series bios mod link to here that proved that the 300 series has only vbios differences with the 200 series Hawaii chips.

When it comes to the whole V-sync problem I have, I found out that switching the "power effeciency" setting to off in Radeon Settings made a huge difference. It dose not fix the problem of triple buffering appearing to be broken (except in window mode). I will still drop to 30 FPS if my FPS goes even 1 below 60, but its not happening anywhere near as much after switching that off. I also re-installed clockblocker to try and help a little more.

And that person on twitter with the 295x2. I find it funny there is no FPS or overlay info of any kind present. Either way I'm sure he can hit FPS that looks good for 4k by basically staring at a wall. And LMAO at the AMD customer care suggesting he not use both GPU's to run the game.

    90 and TSSAA 8TX

At the moment I have one result from a 970 user with 90 fps in the same spot. I'd like to see more for confirmation.

Edit: I got 62 at medium. 86 at Low.
He also got 85-86 at Ultra.

    This is embarrassing lol.

    Same exact settings (ultra pre-set) on a 390X with a 4.4Ghz i7.... 40FPS :s3d:

    @fr33jack
Thank you, it seems to confirm that using the higher settings isn't the issue. I mean, your Ultra is running faster than my bare-minimum Low.

I've also heard users of the GTX 7xx series complaining that performance was lower than expected. In Directx games, the big difference between a 770 and a 970 was a 60-70% increase. In Doom, it's 130%.

At least, 9xx users have amazing performance right now.
I hope Vulkan brings a bit of balance. No way AMD is gonna fix OpenGL for a single game.

I noticed you guys have OpenGL 4.3 on AMD while Nvidia - 4.5... Maybe the problem lies with older OGL version?

Those cpu and gpu numbers top right corner, what do they mean? And what does it mean when they turn red? In my game i have a few red ones on the cpu while rest is green.

An ID Engineer was asked about this. He claims that this isn't the issue.
"We use as much or little of 4.5 on NVIDIA as we do on AMD. No difference."
He also said there wouldn't be a gain if AMD ran 4.5 directly instead of 4.3 with extensions from 4.4 and 4.5.

Whether or not he's honest about this, I dunno. He knows more about OpenGL than I do tho.
