I need to test and compare my PC performance between DX11 and DX12 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider but the program does not run under DX12 mode. There is a way to enforce it? Or another similar software that works with DX12 games?
EVGA Precision does not work here since my VGA is AMD brand, but thanks for the suggestion. I've found a temporary solution : downloaded a program called Dxtory that has support for fps overlay with DX12 games. But the program only shows FPS and does not have all the options that Afterburner has (show GPU usage, RAM usage, core/memory clocks etc)
Unwinder doesn't usually add support for API's until there is wider support. Seeing as there is only a handful of Direct X 12 games, it might be a few versions down the road until we see support for it within RTSS. It also depends on if Unwinder owns any Direct X 12 games as he typically won't add support for new API's until he has games/software that support it.
I'm hoping Unwinder will add Vulkan OSD support in the next release as well as DX12. Until then i just use RTSS on my 2nd screen.
DX12 OSD is in development, but I cannot give any ETA. Vulkan OSD is in future plans, most likely it will not be available in the next version.
Well, RTSS works with DX12 in my experience. Both Hitman and Rise of the Tomb Raider DX12 versions maintain their framerate cap which I had set using RTSS. And my RTSS was downloaded on around 11 May and I did not update since then. Sadly, RTSS doesn't work with UWP (be it DX11 or DX12). Wanted to cap framerate in Quantum Break but couldn't. Thankfully, an alternative program exists. It's called DXTORY. Works great, since it can both cap the framerate and display the framerate at the same time.
