    What about Fermi?

  2. This Driver is Very Smooth. tested in BF4. Min fps took a hit but Great Job from NV!

Definitely jumping on the final version. Running Fermi atm.

This driver installed fine. One problem though, is the install of the newest Vulkan driver. It didn't show up in add/remove programs so I found the installer in the Nvidia folder. I ran the installer and I get error code 20. Guess I'm SOL on this version. :(

The Vulkan driver is supposed to be installed during the regular Geforce driver install, so it shouldn't have to be installed separately.

    Fermi will not support Vulkan.

I'd stick to the latest WHQL for those cards anyway. It seems all the Vulcan optimizations rely heavily upon the GTX 900 series atm.

That's the problem. It wasn't installed during the GeForce install. That's why I tried installing the stand alone install located in the driver package.

Weird. I would do a clean install if I were you, using DDU. Also, I would uninstall the Vulkan run time libraries before doing the uninstall.

It's a weird one because the hardware is theoretically supported and the only thing holding them back from ever making Vulkan compatible on 400/500-series GPUs (as it were) is due to the low amount of Fermi users.

Has to be something on your end as I have no such issue on mine.

It is weird. Short of uninstalling Bitdefender, I've done as you suggested and more. I always run DDU in safe mode for a new update. I'm ok without for now. There's nothing I need it for atm. Still. It's strange.

Yeah but how many games will actually use Vulkan ?

I prefer Windows 7 purely from a skinning perspective as Windows 10 is completely locked down when it comes to custom themes but then again I like the snappier performance and generally faster nature of Windows 10.

Perhaps not many this year? Vulkan works across the board though, so, a savvy dev may adopt it to maximise potential user-base of their games. Too early to tell what will happen. At least the choice is there now.

It must be significant enough for Nvidia to put the work into it though.
