Requesting help if anyone knows how to fix the below problem. With the start of wddm 2.0 windows 10 drivers most of the nvidia control panel was removed for optimus users. Pre windows 10 the control panel looked like this: However in the latest drivers only the 3d settings page is available. Normally this wouldn't affect users since resolution settings can be changed via the intel control panel, however since the video settings were also removed, all video rendered on the Nvidia gpu is forced to be at limited color range ( 16-235) instead of 0-255. As a result all video has washed out colors, from media players to youtube. I have tried different recommended solutions such as RGBFullRangeToggle and changing the video color settings in the intel control panel however neither have worked. I have searched for hours using google trying to find a solution but most of the discussion about color range problems relate to a hdmi color range bug that nvidia cards used to have. The only way i can get non-washed out video is to use the intel gpu, which can be a problem when running a game on one monitor and a video on the other since the Intel GPU cannot handle doing both tasks very well. Any help is appreciated.
Here is how it looks like at my side with latest driver and windows 10 th2 I suggest that you use DDU and reinstall the drivers to see if that helps. It should work !
I wish that was the case. Neither option has appeared for me on any w10 driver. And i have been using w10 for ~6 months now. In addition i do a clean install for every w10 build and have used DDU various times throughout the months

Ty. Didnt see a much different. My best guess at this point is that something changed between windows 7/8.1 and windows 10 in terms of display. I found an old nvidia driver (332.35) and force installed it on w10. Both of the missing panels magically appear again. I tracked what registry changes go through when the color range is modified. For one, they hardware IDs will be different from your computer And second, these keys do not exist on the windows 10 versions of nvidia's driver, at least for optimus. I do wonder what values the non-optimus GPUs are changing on w10. If someone here with a desktop gpu has time could they use this(or any registry tracker) program to see what values are changed when you toggle video dynamic range: InstallWatch Pro Obv. being on w10 is a requirement. Going to do dual boot windows 7 later and see if i can figure out exactly which driver caused the panels to be removed.
I have optimus and I only get the settings in the "3D settings" section. I don't have any of the other options. win7 64bit. It's always been like this on my system.
Is it the system in your description? I know the 332 drivers have it but they came out ~8 months before the 900m series launched. Still dont know exactly which driver caused them to disappear Edit: Trying to find info about this is just plain weird. Some people had it removed earlier, others only lost one of the panels.
yeah, mine is clevo p150em. As far as I know it's the same for all systems with optimus on win7 because the intel gfx driver controls the output. On mine the gtx980m outputs through the intel gfx. I think some laptops might have output direct from gfx, but, all optimus works the same...all other options are controlled by intel driver inc resolution, hz rate, colour etc.
It's always been like this on my Optimus system. You're supposed to use the Intel CP to control color settings.
Is your computer windows 8.1? I just reinstalled windows 7 on my laptop and installed the latest nvidia driver. Here is the result: Picture At least i know that i remembered correctly that in windows 7 the nvidia control panel does show these options. I know they work as well because i can change the dynamic range while watching a video and see the results live. On the other hand, changing the video color settings on the Intel control panel does nothing. Maybe they started the removal of the options starting in w8.1? with 900m series cards? Another possible theory is that MSI branded 880m is allowed to see these options by a bug. MSI is not the most popular company for high end laptops. Still would be helpful if someone with a desktop GPU and w10 tracked the registry to see what changing the dynamic range does in w10
Selkie707, One easy way to check is if you can run just the NVidia gtx880m on it's own without optimus (intel hd4600 off). Bios should have the option, otherwise use device manager to disable the intel hd gfx. If you can, then, your gtx880m video-out is direct output instead of having to go through the intel gfx which would explain why you have those options enabled. If you can't, then, you have normal optimus in which case it's a bug.
Same here I have the exact same issue. I already have a dual boot system with Win 8.1 and Windows 10. I rarely use Windows 10 because the damn graphics card switches incessantly and stutters everytime it switches. I have video color settings available in Windows 8.1 and only 3d settings available in Windows 10. I'm running the 356.04 driver on both systems. Michael
