Hi everyone. Lately my monitor has been doing this weird blue thing. It's hard to explain but I here is a pic: I have confirmed it is the monitor itself and not the gfx card or the motherboard because it happens on my ps4 as well as my pc Is there anything I can do or am I forking out for a new monitor? TIA, Steven
I had not but I tried and it didn't work unfortunately. The only thing that works is turning it off for a long time and then turning it back on but the success rate of this is becoming less frequent.
Sounds like something is failing, what happens if you drop the refresh rate down / resolution too ? Or a different input, switch from whatever you're using (DVI / HDMI / DP) to something else
dropping the refresh rate did nothing. And i can't test the vga because my gfx card doesn't have one. I'm just going to get a new monitor I think. Still curious as to what people think though. Thanks again, Steven
Yea it's an interesting one Possible a little cap or something has popped on the board inside, might be worth having a look inside, see if you can see any obvious damage - could be as easy and cheap as a new cap https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+an+LCD+Display+with+failed+capacitors/4131
not confident enough for this haha. My next upgrade was going to be a monitor. I just wasn't planning on it yet. Have a good excuse now though. Cheers for the help anyway mate, I appreciate it.
