Hello I'm Currently on aim 2700k @5.0 ghz with 780ti matrix sli in bf4 and far cry 4 I'm seeing a cpu bottle neck at 1440 I'm bf4 for instance I lock my fps to 90 and some times when In a 64 man server with lots going on I drop down to around 80 or so fps in the werst cases and when that happens my gpu ussage drops down to the high 70s when I get those fps dips wich is a bottle neck in 48 man servers it doesn't happen . I'm. Wondering if I moved to a 6 core 5820k would those drops not be as bad ? Like maybee the 5820k would be around 120 fps as the lows ? Some input would be nice . Or am I better off putting the money in to some ddr 3 2600 or towards a 980ti sli . Stalker series also gets drops in to the low 50s on lost alpha cpu over clocking changes those numbers alot to the 6700k I think would be better for single player and max fps but the 5820k would be future proof for upcoming games

You should probably just sell those 780's and buy a 980ti if you want an upgrade. That oc on 2700k is amazing and still enough to push any card/cards.

I would also recommend adding another 8GB system ram.

I don't think your CPU's the problem, you should think about getting more RAM, and/or GPU.

    Hi

In your case upgrade now is a waste of money.

Your CPU is strong enought for any Graphics Card.

Buy another kit of ram (8GB)

Wait for Polaris or Pascal GPUS

Thanks , my 780ti sli matrix at 1250 /30 beats a 980ti only games that I see a slight bottle neck is bf4 64 man with lots goin on I'll. Drop to the 80s fps on a low note . If I run 4k ii average around 72 to 87 fps . Ya 16 gb of ddr 3 2600 I will pick up . I'm tuning 4k to my sharp tv in living room so I csnt upgrade that I'll do ram for now I guess. Here is my fire strike defult sli is 18, 102 at 5.0 ghz 1250 core

I went from a 2600K to a 5820K and I see close to no improvement in game framerate.

    (motherboard & PSU broke down)

Not that I don't mind the sheer performance at anything else though, but it's neglect-able for gaming.

Lately I get the impression games are getting more GPU memory bandwidth hungry.

Realy ? Interesting even the 64 man bf4 fps drops from lots of stuff going on with sli the 5820k can't feed the cards a constant 110 fps vs my 2700k dropping down to 80s ? I'll. Stick it out for a year I guess
