Bethesda has released the first beta patch for Fallout 4, after the break an overview of changes. The patch offers a number of general memory and stability improvements, fixes several issues and cras... Fallout 4 - Beta Patch #1
It's the second beta patch. I found .30 under the beta tab in steam on day 1. It then lost the beta tag after a while without downloading anything (that I noticed).
Ugh. If youre looking for performance fixes for this broken game dont look here. Identical performance as the last patch from what I can tell. Still Shadow Distance that is doing this. STILL have to set mine to 3800 (Medium-High) to get 60fps at all times. This is on my 970m though. Im hoping my oc'd 980 can keep up with at least 8000 shadow distance. Oh well. We wait.
What are some issues you're running into? This cleared up a major one for me of not being able to rebind keys near the arrow keys. Only thing left for me, now, is I can't move in Crafting mode because I rebinded my keys form the default movement keys. I haven't experienced any bugs or crashes to desktop like previous fallout games.
Yeah, im not sure why people are posting performance increases, there was no performance increase with this patch. Placebo fps increase only.
This patch is a joke... AND IT'S A BETA. I would like to play the game but it sounds like I shall wait a year before I touch this buggy mess.
Did you actually read the patch notes? Someone who changed the god ray quality, but didn't have it save correctly, could very well be seeing substationally increased performance with the patch.
Thats not the patch addressing performance, it simply addressed a problem with the launcher. There is also next to no fps hit between GodRays off and low. Besides, it been known since launch that the issuse can be overcome by tweaking the ini manually.
I want to really play this, but won't until they properly implement the ability to change all key bindings; absurd that I can't anno 2015. AHK, I know, but that shouldn't be needed imo.
Lol wow, they really weren't kidding with the "beta patches". What a joke. So glad I waited on this one.
I wish the involvement that CD Project showed, rather than beta patches, to release a patch in beta is just odd to me, and even more so because it encompasses so little. I'm glad too I canceled my pre-order but also disappointed because I've been waiting for this game since NV. Plus, what's up with that outdated engine and 2010 graphics? More disappointment. Guess it'll be another year maybe before I'll pick it up from the sales bin?
