There is no "should". 960 is a completely different card to a 770.

It´s no surprise, Treyarch have been cooperating closely with nvidia in black op games for years now. There is absolutely no excuse for a ps4 game to run like that on a 770, pff that´s too low even for my 660 which handles non nvidia ports 50/100% faster than the ps4.

And what streak is nvidia on lmfao, Watch dogs, FarCry 4, AC Unity, Arkham Knight, Dying Light, Witcher 3, and now Black Ops 3. This is an historically low for nvidia. Some people will defend them no matter what.

Nope, pretty sure it isn't. Someone seems to have a hard-on for NV at the moment.

I asked long ago, got no answers, I gonna ask again.

Does the Maxwell 1.0 750/750Ti affected by all these?

No, there was a glitch with the Witcher3 drivers that didn't let Kepler have the optimizations for the game. They fixed that quickly with a hotfix driver.

Pitcairn R7 370 (two times rebranded) beating GK104? While mighty GK110 still performing somewhat decent lower Kepler based cards are history. We'll probably see the same thing with upcoming Fallout 4 and so on...

Fallout 4 will probably make Nvidia's marketshare even bigger :D

Well obviously. They make you drop that 780 and buy 980 to play the Fallout 4. Nvidia is a one smart cookie.

No Nvidia does not, it is his own choice like every one does with new graphic cards. gtx 780 is old and most hardwarefreaks like to buy new card for his hobby. You juist trolling cause you have a AMD card :infinity:

Nothing to do with me having an AMD card. Its just general concern and confusion why is gtx770 slower than R7 370. It should be on pair with R9 280X.

No it shouldn't. It's a different card with a different chip.

Did you try make some tests with drivers?
Install an driver from eg. december or january, one who you know was good and play some new games:TW3,Gta V,Dying Light etc.
Test and see how and when was driver crippled.I guess you will find the best driver for old good Gtx 780.

On my card I test a old driver,Omega 14.12,and games run smooth without being optmized with new drivers. Its true on Amd side the new drivers will give me 5-10+ more fps.

Maybe it's the same reason the 780ti is slower than the 770 at 4k..
The game is all over the place and like HH said, has inconsistent results.

IMO, the thread title needs to be changed to: kepler aged horribly compared to first gen GCN cards.

there's no denying that at this point. 7970ghz/280x in comparison to 680/770/780, has aged much better, to the point that the 680 and 770 are now completely underpowered for newer titles, while the 7970/280x, still have juice to power newer games at very decent settings.

there's no dowgrade, the older games still retain the same performance, but the nvidia kepler series runs out of juice in newer games, while the early GCN cards keep on chugging along.

It's not just a vram thing either, as we see a mid range 960 destroying kepler cards with more power and equal vram. It's seems kepler architecture was short sighted. if this was on purpose or not, I can't tell.

Theres your answer I mentioned a while back, amd rebrands cards, just look at the 7970 for example, how many versions were released? Several by my estimation. 290, 290x still being on the front burner support wise because of more rebrands, 390, 390x. GCN has been out quite a long time.

Kepler is doing just as fine as amd cards in console ports, smoothly and with high fps, as long as nvidia isn´t too involved. Problem I think is they have been injecting shady nvidia specific stuff that doesn´t do any other thing than to hurt kepler, like the apex dll stuff in the witcher 3. I deleted it, fixed the heavy stuttering (I wasn´t playing because of that but didn´t buy new card either lol), clothing didn´t stop moving, performance was the same or better, and it only crashed once in +130 hours. And that´s only the stuff we can see, now imagine all the crap not at sight. It´s not surprise that nvidia is now focusing their infamous "hardware moving" tricks onto it´s own users seeing how small AMD market share is lately.

I think its because if you delete apex gpu files it goes to cpu instead???? maybe...:3eyes:
