    Hi guys

    I bought a G.Skill sniper 2x8 Gb @1866 Mhz ram. So the question is I have 4x2GB kingston Hyperx ram @2400 Mhz can I put extra 2x2GB ram in my system?

    Thanks

    No. You'll loose current dual-channel setup with your 2x8GB. Its a different timings, voltage and frequency. Sell the extra ram.

    I wouldn't use them in the same rig either. 16GB is more than enough for the current games.

    Yeah 16 GB is enough but if we can utilise more why not :nerd:

    Anyway thanks for the advice. Gonna sell them

    No you wont that's false, it would be the case if it was quad channel.

    If you paired the 8GB stick with the 2GB stick, then the 2GB stick will run at the 8GB speeds. 2x2 and 2x8 are fine.;

    Pop em in, more ram is always good.
