I need a hdmi splitter, so I can connect my ps3 to a tv and a monitor.

I seen some on amazon but I dont know if I should trust it. the reviews good and bad.

I want to do the same thing. I have tried those cheap passive ones from Amazon, but they do not work with the PS3. Or maybe they don't work at all, but I did try them only with my PS3. Unfortunately you (and me too) will need something active to do the job, but they are way more expensive. If anyone knows about a reasonably priced one do please tell us.

I bought this one about 2 months ago and it works perfectly. I have a Blu-Ray, TV and HTPC connected thru it. It does not require a power supply. It also auto senses which device is active. I think I only paid about $10 back then.

Humm that is not a splitter. It is 3 inputs and 1 output and we are looking for something with 1 input and 2 (or more) outputs.

Passive splitters are known to have issues. I would recommend checking KVMSwitchTech as they offer a wide range of active HDMI Splitter solutions that are EDID and HDCP compliant.

If no external power supply is required, what happens when you may use of that 5V DC power port?! I assume that is for the extra functions like powering the receiver for the remote control.

Your going to have to pay $$$ as it needs things like edid and hdcp as suggested above. Many products dont do this and it causes dramas
