Guess complaining in the Interwebz serves a purpose sometimes, huh

 

It's not the first time complaining on the net caused changed with a Deus Ex game.
With Human Revolution people threw a HUGE fit because videos were shown with the item highlight.
The big yellow borders on everything sent people into a huge ****storm.

And, shortly after, the developers released a video specifically to say "We've heard you" and they had added an option to turn it off.

While this is different, as it's the publisher that listened and made a change, it's still awesome that it seems they really do listen to the community with this series.

Either way, I can't wait for this one. I was gonna pre-order no matter what, but not because of a craptastic pre-order scam. I'm gonna pre-order because the previous entry was beyond awesome.
And this one looks to be just as great.

Wiping the floor with those poor thugs still feels like cheating to me. I mean, they can empty a whole mag into you and you just jump on them and have blades shooting out of your arms. Where's the accomplishment?


Also: Forced 3rd person mini-cutscene for each melee-kill: NO GO for me

 

So... didn't like Human Revolution?

Because this looks almost exactly like that, only more refined and polished.
And hell, in DX:HR you could be killed in seconds if you tried to take on enemies head on.

But, with a few upgrades and choice augs... yeah, you become almost unstoppable.

 

I really liked that you could complement your playstyle with the augs. Either go for non-lethal stealth (like I, if possible) or become a goddamn tank

Hmmm... perhaps it's time to replay DX:HR...

 

And I finally managed to get rid of stutters in DX:HR (which were in game since launch), and just discovered that pistol with Armor Piercing upgrade makes lethal headshots practically on all enemies (except bosses), and also discovered that pistol with silencer can be used to attract enemies to quiet places - so I replay the game completely in new style (Missing link section feels completely different with pistol equipped with silencer and armor piercing upgrade).

 

Glad you got rid of stutters, DX:HR has always been a smooth ride for me (on both NV/AMD hardware).

Yeah, the silencer and armor-piercing rounds are pretty essential for the pistol. Tougher enemies have Dermal Armor and you need those armor-busters for silenced headshots there... unless you can close in for a takedown ofc.

Some sort of DX remake or something, not high hopes, been tried before

Unofficial remake, not really a remake either, more just reimagined and expanded. Coupled with some mods that make the game more playable and support modern resolutions.

I've played what they've already released and it's definitely enjoyable. Modded DX still holds up for me in 2015.

 

Looks like they got way to carried away with the various colored lights and such.
