I want to confirm this as I just went from 1002 -> 1004 (didn't have WU prompts) by downloading the 15.7.1 driver package from AMD. Installer even said that I was running latest driver packaging (1002) as I was installing over, yet now it's 1004.

Well that's a weird way of updating something without letting anyone know on AMD's part... When companies do this I immediately think, what are they trying to hide?

Most likely the driver engineers upload it when done but the guys who update the site info didn't (it's the weekend after all).

    hot fixes are pretty common.

they why they are "hot" fixes...

they are generally only for people having that specific problem..

I never saw anything in WU so I looked in the update catalog and found the 1062.1004 driver. I downloaded it but it wouldn't install. I then went to AMD and got the latest package which has turned out to be the 1062.1004 driver. I was using 1046.2 before but the new one seems better. The first 15.7.1 they put out gave me display driver crashes but this one seems to be very good.

Yes. Just saw reference to this very issue regards versions in 15.7.1 thread.

These are indeed bug fixes ( the 1003 and 1004), just that to find what they 'fixed' you need download the 'FULL' release notes for the 15.7.1 - no mention of what fixes there were in the abridged release notes on the 15.7.1 driver page. Downloading the full release notes and you will see the 2 bug fixes listed.

    Why downloading?
You can see the full release notes here including the 1004 hotfix.
