hello guys, i used to overclock my gpu perfectly to 1160 mhz when i needed to but since i upgraded to windows 10, i dont seem to get it working even at 1150 mhz. I tried through msi afterburner and the pc freezes after 5 mins of gameplay always, what is wrong, has anyone found this issue and solved it? plzz share?

I'm the other way around. I couldn't oc my 290 under win 8.1, because it was unstable, but now I can do a little bit. Although I'm using RadeonPro, not Afterburner.

There might be a simple thing for this. Win10 performance is better than before. Meaning you have less cpu bound situations, which mean more workloads for your gpu, making it also heat more, thus becoming more unstable under overclocking.

It could be the windows 10 AMD GPU driver?

so i tried going down a little bit to 1050 overclock.. and still its crashing the games.. dont know whats wrong here but upgrade to windows 10 has either got bad drivers from amd or my cant overclock to that point if workload increases.. :/

I used the same clocks 8.1 -> 10 and they work fine. It sounds like it could be something else, not the OS.

I've win 10 and afterburner and works without any problems, set the config to default perhaps it's some incorrect setting

I brought my 1200/1600 1.25v to W10, its stable just like in W8.1. Dont have ACU but playing TW3 no problems.

a newer 280X may have a different bios than an older model so they may not perform exactly the same
check for new windows 10 driver< i know they update every few days since people are having issues
and always do a FULL uninstall before installing new drivers
