A shell of it's former prominence, the final blow is closing a once re-known GPU review and discussion site.

I wondered if that site still existed as I haven't visited it in years.

Apparently it's going away because Mike Chambers (i think the owner of the website?) died on June 30th.

Howdy y'all. Mike's wife, Julie has been using his account to post messages. Mike passed away, and his wife was considering selling the site. The hosting company gave a deadline that ended a couple of days ago, to backup whatever data any potential buyers might want to salvage. There was someone interested in buying the site from her, as the domain is still good for a while. He's a guy I met over at nVNews MANY years ago, and he was trying to backup whatever he could from the hosting company.

Apparently, the deal to secure the site from Mike's wife must have fallen through, for reasons I won't say. There are many of us that wanted to see the site make a return, along with improvements that would hopefully make the site productive and informative once more, but at the moment, it looks like it's not going to happen.

I wish I had some good news for y'all, but unfortunately I have none. Guru3D was my first forum, and I became a long-time member of nVNews as well. I met many a good folks over the years there, many of which I am still in contact with today. Luckily, there are many sites that offer help with nVidia products, and nVidia now has their own Linux support forums on their official site.
