I want to keep my Win8.1 cd key so I can dual boot at some point. So I installed Win7 pro just to the point of activation, then ran the win10 installer in win7. Choose to erase everything and install. I guess it worked because I wasn't asked to activate and so it's activated already and linked to my Hotmail account. So far so good I guess. Now I just have to fire up Macrium and make an image.
Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars, even redownloaded from the Store refuse to load on my PC. They open and display their splash screens then just close quietly after a minute or so.
Agreed. It's a remnant of those ugly, basic Windows 8 "Metro" UI apps in my opinion. Why Microsoft insist on forcing them for desktop users is beyond me. Windows now has an optional Tablet mode so why not make the applications switch too depending on whether you are using tablet or desktop modes? Edge for example seems like a great browser but it feels more like an upgrade of the basic IE11 Start Screen app than the better featured and more usable desktop version. And the less said about the Settings menu the better...Themes all carry over from Windows 7/8 but now there's no easy way to select how long backgrounds will show before they change. Maybe that feature has not been implemented yet though?
I am having an issue with the update KB3074665. In the process of updating I get the message "windows couldn't update undoing changes" and then like 5 reboots I have tried deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder and running sfc /scannow but the issue still persists. Please if anyone has a solution that would be really helpful.
Here's a way to manage automatic updates if you have pro or enterprise. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/th...-Fixes/page8?p=1083501&viewfull=1#post1083501
I highly recommend Common Sense Internet Security 2015. Once installed, don't forget to run brain.exe as admin. :nerd:
Give it a while. When I used the diagnostic tool to hide the 353.50 nvidia driver, it still showed up for some time. Same with disabling cortana, its button eventually disappeared.
Yey, only took 3 days but finally got Corsair Link to see the hardware it is designed purely to see and control Wonder how MS would do if it took 3 days to get Windows to boot.... just sayin Corsair Oh, and the above statement applies to previous stable Windows releases & CL too ----- Not running CPUz, any idea why I keep getting these temp files? I got a cpuz138_x64.sys BSOD earlier - not sure of the number in bold because 137, 138 and more keep appearing Anything to do with MSA AB CPU temp monitoring?
I have the same issue as well. It seems the cpuz file is stored in the Local\temp folder and is generated from CorsairLink, in particular cpuidsdk.dll which is located in Program Files (x86)\Corsair\Corsair Link removing the dll file will limit the functionality of the software. You wont be able to see any details of your hardware other than the AIO cooler
AppData\Local\Temp Ah so it is CL, why is it using CPUz drivers? I don't use the software for monitoring, just for increasing H100i fan speeds when the CPU gets hot, so as long as it does that, Im not fussed
