Hi guys, just reporting in on my experience with the Witcher 3 and the new 15.7 driver.

So the driver cleaned up all the flickering errors the game had. But as some have noted, the performance is worse.

With my 295x2+290x setup I get worse performance than with just my 295x2.

With my 295x2 I can do 2560x1440 resolution, with most things maxed out, an injecting smaa or fxaa instead of the antialiasing solution from the witcher 3 postprocess options. I can get a steady 50-60 fps. If I add the 290x into the mix, the FrameRate drops into the low 40s.

If I go to 4k, it gets worst. The crossfire scaling is really random now.

With 15.5 or modified drivers the framerate was waaaay better, but we had to deal with the constant flickering.

Maybe with the 1.07 patch for the Witcher 3 things will improve.

The drivers have improved, but was really hoping to finally play this game at 4k at 60 fps. I have the horsepower to do it, just need better crossfire profile and drivers.

    Negative scaling going from 295X2 (2x290X) to tri-fire 290X??¿?¿

    WTF!

Yeah, I thought I installed drivers wrong or something. DDU'ed again and reinstalled, same results.

Quite bummed out ATM. 2560 looks sweet dont get me wrong...but....:(

Hopefully the patch 1.07 brings some improvements...

lol'ed a little. But that still does not mean that 1x1 will be better (or a little less worse) :D

Some weeks ago there was a custom CFX people used who was "water scared" but performed better than the existing (or it was no existing?) AMD CFX profile....

    :D

This driver (15.7) still not enabling crossfire for me (2x7970). First GPU 99% and second GPU 0%.

Did you uninstalled with DDU (newest version)?

Full screen instead of borderless fullscreen (this one has fooled me to many times)? Anti aliasing needs to be disabled as well.

Yes, I did. Since 15.5 driver version this problem exists for me. I tried all CFX formats (1x1, AFR, witcher3.exe profile)

AA is disabled and render.ini is edited. Full screen also enabled too. No crossfire for me is a mistery :(

Yeah, check if you have fullscreen enabled, and not borderless windowed. The game resets that quite often...

edit: just saw your latest post. Hmm, then I don't know. It can't be by any chance that xfire has gotten disabled in CCC?

With one 7970 I get 28fps: not bad, but not good.

Edit: The windowed mode was the problem, my bad.

With what settings? I get more than that at 1440p.

15.7 eliminated crossfire flicker for me but I'm still experiencing alot of stuttering.

Has there been any "magic" settings either ingame or through RadeonPro which will fix or alleviate the stuttering and frame time issues?

The game is fairly stuttery no matter what here. I really don't think we can do anything. If RTSS + windowed mode (without any game v-sync of limiting) doesn't remove stutter, we're stuck waiting for game updates to fix streaming.
