Hello, I have a sapphire 7950 that I bought used from a friend of mine..

The weird is that stock voltage is 1.025.. Is this normal?

Another question.. Can I use a r9 280 bios? Will I have performance increase?

Many thanks to you all :)

Use GPU-Z to export your bios and send it to me. Also check if your card has a bios switch.

I remember different cards have different voltages, some guy on overclockers.net found a correlation between stock voltage and ASIC quality.

    Some cards had 1.025, 1.100, 1.150 and lastly 1.2 and 1.25.

He can check the ASIC quality using GPU-Z. You just click on the top left icon on the GPU-Z window, and there is the "Read GPU ASIC Quality..." button.

Observe my famous luck below :D

    I had 61,5% and **** it was a terrible card. Got 1100/1250 only stable @ 1.25V.

Mine is 1150/1550 completely stable @ 1.268. The temps are ok too. Maybe it doesn't matter that much in the end.

I don't recommend you messing around with the BIOS, use MSI AB to overclock your GPU.

OFF: My shappire have a crappy ASIC too 59.1% ... i never tried 1150, but 1050 is stable with the stock voltage and power limit

I wounder if I can flash it with a 280 bios and if that will boost the performance

    this card is 900/1250

Naa don't do that, overclock the card with MSI afterburner or edit your original bios with VBE7 if you want a permanent O.C

First you need to find a stable O.C settings with MSI AB and then edit your BIOS. 1050-1100mhz is the sweet spot in my opinion for the GPU, memory i don't know ... but arround 1300mhz

I'm pretty sure that your GPU can overclock to +/- 1000mhz with stock voltage and the power play at 20%.

Been using the 7950 for a long time now and its a great card.

With the modified june 8 drivers of Asder i have the best results in gaming and benchmark scores.

my highest o.c. was 1200/1550 on a 52% ASIC with trix set to 1.3 volt

Heaven benchmark score was 1005 on 1080p highest settings on a single sapphire 7950 boost.

In The Witcher 3 with advanced settings off except sun flare effect and normal settings on ultra except vieuw distance to high / medium / hairworks off shadows medium i have a solid 60 fps !!!!!!

This is with an o.c. of 1100 / 1450 1.25 volt gaming profile, now i can get volt lower but temps are fine.

I am using Windows 10 pro build 10130 btw !
with an intel 2500k o.c. to 48oomhz on air with 8 gb corsair vengeance at 1600mhz.

Hope this helped abit sir :)

    Ditto.

Also, very jelly of all you guys with 60% asic and up!
Stuck at 1050 core for stability, no amount of voltage helps. What is wild is how much even just 50MHz means on this arch. Love it! (not my asic score though)

EDIT: whoa! Demrock 52%! Yet faar better oc results. Not too sure I've won the OC lottery in a long while now.

My top GPU is 68% but the bottom one is somewhat higher so clocks don't match up great. I usually don't crossfire so it's not a problem.
I run 1150/1600 right now. 1175 causes rainbow artifacts :)
