I use this https://mega.co.nz/#!NspHxBBA!kCUab_QmHVhpZl9fHCoqb9CUEzPvyujn3y0M4D6p_tY Run it to add to reg, then right click the folder and choose "Grant Admin full control" Then you should have permission
This is how spyware works. I wish Microsoft wouldn't force you in to having to go to such lengths to remove something that shouldn't be appearing in the first place. It even reminds you in the sodding Windows update screen, just in case you forgot. Not only that, but making it difficult to disable. I'll just keep the folder name .old for now as I'm not sure what will happen after the 29th with a reserved copy.....
Just disabling those two tasks prevents the process from running or uninstalling the KB as mentioned before works as well. Deleting the folder would be necessary if the folder and its contents are left behind after the uninstalling of the KB. Just listing different alternatives. Always more than one way to do things.
It is annoying, I wish they would have waited until at least the beginning / middle of July before sending out this popup, 2 months in advance with no easy way to disable is nothing more than annoyware
It finally showed up for me this morning. I was getting a lil concerned because so many others got the icon a week ago and I didn't. Oh well I reserved my copy.
Don't even see the point in it, you don't need to reserve a copy, it's not like there are going to be limited supplies
i hope its possible to do a clean install with this update somehow. or maybe use the windows 8 key with windows 10 iso (i doubt this though).
Same, the get windows 10 icon is apparently bound only to show up if you have a certain amount of updates installed.
