So a 980ti with 2816 shaders and 96 rops is only marginally faster than a 980 with 2048 shaders and 64 rops? That is not even taking into account 384 bit vs 256 bit. Those 980ti specs are much closer to a Titan X than a 980.

The only reason they can do this is that people will still buy which is sad and ruins the high end market for people that can barely afford it as it is. I already had a hard enough time spending 400$ on the card I currently own.

they can do it bcs they found they can sell 1000$ gpus and people will buy them mostly for bragging rights because most of the time they are not used for the original purpose

My local MicroCenter had it, Teh 980Ti, up for $999, presumable by mistake, a few hours ago …

Yikes hope that price was a mistake. Was it by chance the Patterson, NJ store? Maybe me and a couple guys will break in there:)

Alot more then what I originally expected, 649 u.s.d sounds more reasonable but not really to sure if thats what the price is going to be once its finally released.

Wow, almost 900 bones, 100 more, you got titan-x, good lord.

Defint't waiting for fiji to come out then see what nvidia is going to do with the price.

I saw some rumors at around $849 for the 4gb fiji, I am guessing that amount of vram will fare better than a plain ddr5 4gb card in terms of sheer memory bandwidth. Some sort of compression ala gm204.

The gaming benchmarks I've seen only have it getting about 7 more fps then the 980 and IMO yes that is marginal and certainly doesn't justify a $250 markup from the 980. But anyway I'm done arguing I think its pathetic that people keep replying to my opinion on the price trying to justify $800. My final thought is it will be $650-$700 anyway and if it's $800 I'll just save my money

Your opinion is based on a 980ti only being marginally faster than a 980. I even included specs that prove a 980ti is much closer to titan x than a 980. Sometimes peoples opinions conflict with actual reality.

My guess is that 980 Ti will be really close to titan x.

Lol that $800 is going to be like $1000 in AUD.

Not regretting my 980 SLI setup yet.

No, I got your point. It's just not that important to me. High end is high end. If you can't afford to play, then adjust your expectations. The market for these is relatively small thus margins are small.

thats because they like milking the people :D and as ive said befor once they pop it out and people go omg its the best next to the titan X there working on new cards, you can always find amd cards on sale nvidia not so much to me this card is nothing more then a cut down of a titan x with 200$ less from the titan maybe 250 with all the tax added to it.
