After browsing newegg for a bit the amount of choices was mind boggling to say the least. Id like something in the 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 range and around the 300 dollar price point give or take a bit. 28 to 32 inches would be nice as well. Heck Im even thinking about venturing down to walmart and getting a 32 inch Samsung HDTV and be done with it. What are the pros/cons of switching to this?
My trusty hanns-g monitor died a few months back after having it almost 8 years. It was 1920x1200 too and you can't find that nowadays. I bought this ASUS IPS as a temporarily replacement. If you live near a BestBuy they usually have them in stock. It was a nice monitor, but I really wanted a G-Sync monitor so I only used it for about 2 months and then gave it to the GF. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-27...lver/8767178.p?id=1218890757451&skuId=8767178
if you are gona play any games or do any editing work at all... i suggest the 29um67 from LG.... 29" widescreen IPS, with 75hz and freesync... closer to 400$ than 300$ tho, but its so worth it to get something thats good.
I agree. You don't typically upgrade monitors as frequently as other PC components so its wise to spend a little extra and get something good that will last.
i migrated from a hanns 28" @ 1920x1200 which i thought was great, tried out a 30" vue from amazon in 2560x1600 but came broken and it was just too large. i went with a benq from seller other than newegg because newegg didn't have them at the time. for i think $350, it was a 27" 2560x1440 and having used it for the last 6 months or so i would never go back to 1920 resolution and i don't even miss the 16:10 format.
