Do you mean "than what they REALLY are"?

You must be right, somebody at AMD seems to work against AMD public image and sales.

Lately AMD has a BIG success ridiculing his own PRs (AMDMatt VSR "confusion" and AMD Roy "next week") and some sites announcing drivers "next week" and Freesync crossfire support "next month".

If you ask an AMD fanboy what's going on (look for them under "the next rock") he will say it's an Nvidia cover operation:

    Nvidia "Snake Team". :D

If you have only a single card, the game practically flies if you disable HairWorks.

Do you mean in a single 290X GPU not YOUR CFX or MINE?

If it's ok for you to only use 50% of your GPUs you should be happy with AMD support....:)

I saw people in the LinusTechTip forums get less fps with SLI GTX 770's than I get with a single 7970. Any chance that some of the game was built around a specific driver/architecture and then everybody has problems rendering it?

Also, apparently Kepler cards are not even properly supported in the Witcher 3 driver release by NVIDIA (further enhancing my belief that there is something in the game that can only be parallelized through GameWorks properly). That thread is 53 pages of rage.

That STILL doesn't excuse promising things and NOT delivering them.

Unless you play at 4K where Crossfire is mandatory.

Hence, the "if you only have a single card" part. In the end, I can only speak about what I have.

You can speak about whatever you want bro. :)

Maybe you don't have first hand experience but you are not blind or fool and you can get the info elsewhere.

The game is running great for me at 2560x1440 with one card,7970, and the 15.4 beta driver. Haven't had a single crash or issue.
I think some of you must be insane, or wildly incompetent...

Using Playstation 2 graphic settings we could play some games at 8K or even 12K with an intel integrated GPU.

    LOL

for each its own as they say

in FHD with all uber and amd hairworks fix, its 30fps. 2560x1440 its 20 fps on a single 290.

ofcourse you can dial settings back a lot and get 50fps.

I bet you'll sign TW3 60 FPS with maxed settings at 1080p if some day a CFX profile is avalaible...

    ...me too. :)

I'm playing 1440p using these settings, getting between 30-40 fps. With a single 7950 highly overclocked. It's smooth, can't complain at all. And damn does it look nice.

With my 7970 I can get 1440p with all on ultra except Grass and Foliage, and SMAA on top, at 30 fps locked with double vsync and modified HairWorks (although the normal hair look BETTER than HairWorks with low tesselation). Since the motion blur implementation of the game is really good, and the input system is separate from the rendering, there is not much input lag either. Being a 3rd person game helps too.

On the other hand, there are no visible differences between Medium and Ultra. There, I said it. Whoever doesn't believe me, look at the GeForce.com guide. If you have post processing effects on with SSAO, the other settings almost don't matter if they are on medium (except textures).
