It doesn't run that well on amd hardware, having trouble staying above 40 fps with my r9 280x on high with hbao+ and no AA (using sweetfx to inject some smaa). I hope AMD manages to perform the same miracle as they did with GTA5.

Huh, that is strange. I've put about 9 hours in the game so far at 1080p, all settings on high with only hairworks and motion blur turned off. Vsync is on and the FPS is locked at 60. I've read so much hoopla on the internet about this game and AMD drivers over the last 2 weeks I was expecting to have to play this game on medium with no AA, but I guess I was wrong.

Oh, and I'm running the 14.12 Omega drivers. Kind of scared to try the new ones coming out this week with how well it is running right now.

Hilbert are you going to bench this title aswell? If so waiting for your credible results ;)

Wonder if my 770 is enough for this game @ 1080p...

It's not that the GTX 960 is way faster. The problem is NVIDIA is planning to ditch Kepler.

Because the way they code things and optimize is waaaay more efficient. Imagine having to test 100+ configurations and alter code/stuff instead of ONE "platform" ;)

Did a quick test before work today. My two 660ti are hurting...badly. Ah well, new box is planned for next year.

    Benches from GameGPU: http://gamegpu.ru/rpg/rollevye/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-test-gpu.html

These benches look more realistic as it would be incredible for Nvidia to completely throw kepler under the bus with such a poor showing in a gameworks title. Of course different settings may account for variations but 960 > 780 is quite a stretch.

    and 1600p:

Running most settings @ ultra with a single 7950 @ 60fps on W10 modified driver on windows 10 operating system build 10074.

I am shocked to see this fps after reading that a 980 / Titan X has such low fps.

granted no hairworks on as this crashes my game instandly, but it runs like a boss.

Hope to see AMD release their driver to see for even better performance.

Funny thing is one of my friends running a lptop with a 840m and he told me that games runs fine on it. He can even play Project cars on ultra. But yeah he never experienced real smoothness.

Also people tend to over exaggerate how good nvidia is and AMD is just crap. Same goes the other way around. I think they both can be good.

Aside of gamegpu's benchmark (which i strongly think is based upon the city) all benchmarks ive come across has shown the above... which is CRAZY!

At 1440p 980 gets 43 fps, 290x 36 fps and 780 ti 26 fps !!!!!! Usually the 780 ti is on par with the 290x, so its pretty obvious that nvidia has tried to make kepler look like **** here...

Wow this just confirmed it. anyway i play on r9 280x here and first area inside the house I got 70 -80FPS with my rig 2560x1440 @ 96Hz So if AMD release drivers today and it's good then i can see getting even more frames or just no flickering

So you're doing better than a 290x? Or are you running 680x480? Whatever settings you're running, pretty sure most other cards in the list will be well ahead of a single 7950.

I am getting 50-60 fps with my msi 970 on max settings, only hairworks disabled. and ini tweaks applied from geforce.com witcher performance guide. This benchmark is definitely not accurate.

Most of benches are not believeable today, they miss a lot of details and twist the truth.
GAMEGPU previous witcher 3 bench show kepler poor performance, and now kepler performing well? wtf.
