You need to uninstall using DDU in Safe Mode.

If VSR doesn't work for you sammarbella will have an apoplexy :D

Following the guide does not enable 4k or software VSR for me on the r290.

I have to use the modded "AMD Catalyst (15.200.1012.2 March 11) Win 8.1 Mod - VSR for HD7/R7/R9 & FPS limiter" drivers to get 4k.

The reason I like the above drivers, is that I can use 144hz with downsampling.

With the official VSR implementation I can only use 60hz at higher downsampling values. I presume this is because of the hardware scaler chip being rubbish.

With the modded driver I can run 4k at 144hz which is sweet, I guess because it is using the software implementation and bypassing said chip.

I want to recreate that with the latest drivers.

    Any idea?

I don't believe it's possible at the moment.

I always use DDU to uninstall my previous drivers and did so with 15.3 before installing the 15.4's still no VSR though :3eyes:

VSR doesn't work on my gpu. My resolution is 1680*1050. Can be related with that?

I don't know what is going on your PC.

What i know is that AMD is very able to broke the VSR support in the only FULLY VSR supported GPU...

You can use VSR on borderless mode you just need to set desktop resolution to the same resolution or dont alt-tab

On my 6970 AMD i am able to use 2560x1600 (from 1920x1200), but Only on HDMI, DVI doesn't work,
and adding CRU just makes it use the Monitor(Not VSR) (which gives me a messed up imaged as it's not able to handle that resolution).

    EDIT:

It seems Vsync (in my short tests) doesn't work with 2560x1600, i get tearing.
Not in Windows though, the game was PJ64 Glide64*

Hi guys, using this method worked. I have an R9 280x. Previously (and up until finding this) I have been using only AMD Beta driver 12.11 and the downsampling GUI by Freejack to get 2560x1440 on my 32inch 1080p.

This new method posted in this thread lets me use Omega 15.4 , but it does have a weird blur as I also read in some posts. Shame on AMD. Anyway, THANKS GUYS. I am however wondering How do I run

    2880 x1620
    3200 x1800
    3840 x2160

    resolutions ? I've tried this: http://forum.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=397985

and added 3840 x 2160 (38 40 21 60 00 00 00 60) to all the DALNonStandardModesBCD1 (about 8 of them) but it doesn't show any higher res in my sliders. The next thing I was going to try is use the "hacked" monitor drivers I used with AMD Downsampling GUI (but that may mess up my current ability to Use VSR w/ the method in this thread) Any ideas?

    The 280x is limited to 2560x1440 (16:9).

Derp. I overlooked that. But if default res is 2560x1440, wouldn't VSR or Downsampling go beyond that? For example, I can play BF4 @ 2560x1440 and then run supersampling @ 200% (ingame setting - greatly improves quality over 1080p on my 32 inch - BUT 2560x1440 has now improved quality)

Our cards are internally limited to this resolution. Nothing you can do right now.

I uninstalled 14.12 via control panel, rebooted and then installed 15.5 beta from amd site. VSR is preserved. Good job ;)

I can confirm that updating from 15.4beta to 15.5beta (no uninstall with DDU or otherwise) preserves the VSR on my 6950 :)

This is only for 1 gpu or can be done with crossfire too?

Try it, there is nothing to loose, maybe a few minutes for unninstall/install.

In 290X it works adding a new 4K VSR res and wrks fine in single GPU but in CFX all VSR res are broke while gaming (FS 3D).

Working here with one gpu, is there a way to add more resolutions? i like to add... 2048 x 1152, 2880 x 1620, 3200 x 1800 and also 4K if is possible :)
