Techland Announce Dying Light (PS3/360/PC/PS4/XBOXONE)

Well sorry to rain on everyones parade but i found this game boring. Running around grabbing stuff, lots of melee, grabbing more stuff lots of melee. Zombies are boring also and the way they behave suck (Dead Island all over again). tried to get into it spent about 5 hours and i just couldn't play anymore, the safehouse are just like FC4 same old crap. Ah well no loss i guess, uninstalled.

To each his own.
But really, if you didn't like Dead Island... why would you even bother with Dying Light? Same developer, same theme... and very obviously the same direction.

The only reason Techland didn't make Dead Island 2 is because they had a pretty bad falling out with Deep Silver. And instead opted to make the game they really wanted to make under a new title with a different publisher.


But really, doesn't rain on my parade. I love the game, you don't. You disliking it won't change the fact that I'm having a complete and total blast with it.

I second that. The side quests are the best and just love some of the humour.

 

I never played dead island. Bought dying light, don't like it. But it doesn't matter.

 

I guess when you have played games for many many years certain games and the way they play, well you tire of it and run out of patients fast. I do anyhow, its a case of oh yeah been there done that, first iteration wasn't that good....next. Hopefully l4d3 will come soon.

What a boring patch. I thought they were going to be throwing new weapons in with the patches, guess not.

 

Hope the bow and arrow update comes soon, will inspire me to play through from the start

 

The game was updated again, adds a "DevTools" folder with a new game exe and a bunch of .dll files, might be for modding unless the developers accidentally made their own tools downloadable but it's probably for mod support.

EDIT: Seems it's there for custom map support.

 

OMG custom map support would be golden!!!

I will pay someone if they do a Walking Dead series of scenarios. Imagine it starts with you waking up in the hospital and then proceeds through a bunch of the key events from the series 1 through 5.

 

I actually found out some weeks ago while browsing TWD wikis that Overkill Software (makers of Payday & Payday 2) are working on a TWD co-op game. So your wish might come true in some way or another.

 

Got me an assault rifle, yee-haw!
(then fired it and got torn up by Virals, yee-haw not-so-much)

BTW listening to SlipKnot's Custer while playing seems awfully fitting...
