I could live with the mousepad if it's really that easy to clean, but that mouse looks so... boring. And probably both has a premium price tag... only for fans of ROG that already have their rigs / desktop showing it.
Mouse is targeted to people that want something simple with decent performance. Logitech did something similar with the Logitech G303, although they added RGB lightening to warrant the premium price for those that aren't necessarily the target audience. G303 uses the 3366 sensor, which is also implemented in the G502.
I like it, both the mouse and pad and yes I do have a ROG motherboard and yes it is back light with Red. Price and performance need to worth it though.
I love it that they haven't gone all "gamerz l33t" and put 8 buttons in it and did F-117 bullsh*t ergonomics. It's simple, seems to be properly built and looks comfortable. If you like the looks (I don't, unfortunely), this looks to be a great purchase.
