If you we're forced into a decision where you had to choose:

    1.) Dial-up connection only

    2.) No internet at all

    What would you choose?

(No you can not hack someones wifi, or use mobile data, the above are the only choices :p)

I picked No internet at all, I think I would lose 10 years of my life through stress having to go back to dialup, especially after years with fiber :)

I remember it being slow even when it was the fastest connection available for home use

Dialup has always been slow as hell, but if you need internet connectivity, it's still better than nothing.

I could probably still use dial-up to read the best page in the universe...

It was slow back in the days of comic sans fairly empty websites, I can't imagine what it would be like trying to load modern sites with it

We had a 14.4k modem before we got our hands on a 56k model, and me and my brother would load up a site still going today, cheatcc.com for PS1 cheats, but we'd have to set the site loading and go away play a game for a while while it loaded the first page, then come back click on the letter the games name started with and wait again, etc etc until we finally got the thing loaded

    Nightmare lol

Accessing THG would be nearly impossible with all the ads that site has. It used to take several minutes for the site to load years ago, before ads took over the internet.

Animated gifs weren't so bad...actually quite fun as something colorful and happy was on an otherwise dreadfully boring page.

Animated gifs, animated cursors leaving star trails all over the screen, and huge coloured comic sans font for everything lol

Would dial-up even be possible now with all the fancy web pages and stuff that take BB for granted now.

Some were animated gifs, some were java applets. Java applets completely sucked on dialup. I was hired by a local company to redesign their website so it would load "fast" on all connections. They got upset when I removed ALL of the java from the site. When they asked why, I simply explained that "fast page load" and "java applets" don't go together. They told me I didn't know what I was talking about.... They're out of business now... Apparently I was better at what I was doing, than they were at what they were doing. My webpage designs never incurred multi-billion dollar lawsuits for submarine crashes.....lol

56K and then milliseconds after get some form of Ka Band satellite broadband setup..

Assuming there is no feasible hard wired alternative worth using :p

Unfortunately in this world, there is no Ka Band satellite broadband, or any other form of connection, other than dialup - you do however get a choice of any speed dialup modem of your choice, from 300bps to 56K ;)

If you can afford it, that is an acceptable solution :D

Although, not sure how you would be able to combine bandwidth - you'd be able to have 20 x 5-7Kbps lol
