    My BIOS version reads 84.04.1F.00.B8

Which one corresponds to my card?

Also is there any benefit for overclocking if i upgrade the BIOS?

Dunno about the 980s but their 970s had the issue of running full fan speed everywhere outside of running windows (when the driver loaded) and monitor connectivity issues(problems with all but HDMI). I assume this new bios does the same fixing here

I believe that is your card.If that is your card you need to use the F3 version.Inside the archive are 2 files and the instructions to flash.
Benefit for overclocking...not every card is the same, flash the new bios and play a little with the clocks,it`s not really rocket science.

    Thank you.
The included PDF instructs to connect DVI connector and first flash the DP file and then the DD file. Did i get something mixed up?

Tried flashing the DP file with the Geforce disabled in the System, using the iGPU, without removing the nvidia drivers and i got a nice "fail".

First, you don`t need to uninstall the driver, just go to device manager and disable the driver;second,if your monitor is connected to you GPU with a DP use the DP bios file. You don`t need to flash the DD bios if u don`t use a DVI cable to connect to your monitor.
Also it`s easy to use this to flash the bios file than the Gigabyte tool.

Thanks to both of you once again.

I guess i have to retrieve my PC monitor from the closet because im plugged to a TV via HDMI.

Anyway, still connected with HDMI: When i try to flash the DD file with GPU disabled, i get a fail message.

When i try the DP file i get a console window open and a batch file runs, that comes out with "A newer version of NVFLASH is required".

    This.

My new Gigabyte is returned from RMA, my SLI set-up works like a charm again, but now with revision 1.0 and the other is revision 1.1 lol :D

I also got an G1 Gaming GTX980 but i have the "84.04.28.00.5B" Version... So sadly that wont work... BUT...

did you look @ TechPowerUP GPU BIOS Collection?

    --> https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/

Hold on, ill take a look :p
So, that would be --> -NVIDIA Source BIOS Version: DP: 84.04.31.00.CA, to DD: 84.04.31.00.C9..

i found your desired BIOS in the Database, 3 times, but they are unverified BIOS.

    GV-N980G1 GAMING-4GD_D/F60
    1. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/207104/207104

    GV-N980G1 GAMING-4GD_D/F51
    2. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/178151/178151

    GV-N980G1 GAMING-4GD_D/F42
    3. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/174220/174220

All 3 BIOS seems to be the same, the Only difference is the F version as you can see in teh naming above the 3 links..(F42/F51/F60)

Id say, download all 3 and compare them all with Maxwell BIOS Tweaker if they are any different form each other.
And if you think its safe, Flash em...

    Hope that helps...

    Best Regards
