Okay so not the best timing I agree, but MSI just put out the following press release. MSI celebrates 100 million NVIDIA graphics cards sold Launching limited edition NVIDIA green GTX 960 and GTX 970... MSI celebrates 100 million NVIDIA graphics cards sold
I used an MSI 560 Ti card and it is a good card still being used today. Congrats on hitting a 100 million MSI.
Don't mind coil noise ? Then buy a msi. ask google his your friend. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=msi+coil+noice
HAHAHAH. Loving these comments. Im doubtful about these numbers. Does this mean NVidia has shipped over a billion chips.
My fans are going strong. They are made pretty durable as well. They don't feel like plastic they feel thicker and a lot stronger. Maybe this was with the older Frozr fans. Nope no coil whine on my MSI 970's and Ive had them up to 1588MHz core and 3925MHz memory but it was unstable in a few games so I backed it off. That's 0.5GB more than your average joe 280X... oh no wait I meant HD7970
The thing around 970 is not massive as people claim, yes NVIDIA should publish real specs, but heck the performance of the card does not suffer only in very seldom circumstances, AMD is far from saint as well... Still, 970 is best gpu per money, specially if they would lower it to 300$.
And now MSI has dialled back down the million number mark because customers are returning their GTX 970s in droves! :eyes:
I'm surprised mine are still running on that 580 Lightning Yeah... coil whine... god I hate that noise. Luckily I haven't got a single card running with it right now... hope those Strix cards are quiet... Which is yet to see
coil whine is gone :bang: Guys the coil whine issue is resolved. I have three cards right now, all MSI: 1) a MSI Gaming GTX 970 4GB - 2) a MSI Gaming GTX 980 4GB - 3) a MSI Gaming R9 290 4GB. Neither 9xx cards have ANY coil whine and both run great. The early buyers got the coil whine cards and the fans probs, but these issues were addressed and fixed.
Just FYI my "special gift" with my 960 100ME was an "exclusive" MSI Far Cry 4 mousepad. Also the MSI logo on the side of the card does have a green LED, but the green doesn't glow in the dark, even under my UV lights
