sorry for the noobish question but how do you guys manage to push higher than 37mV?
besides gpu-z is stuck at 1.200V for VDDC. Same for precision, it doesn't seem to update when i raise the slider bar to 37mv...thanks

Whadup guys. How much can my card be damaged if my VCCD is 1312.5?
I set the 3 first in Voltage table to 1312.5mv to 1312.5mv. (In kepler bios tweaker) So i could achieve higher clocks since my card likes to downclock and stuff.
My temps aren't that high really. never over 62C

Is increasing the voltage the only way to achieve higher clocks? I can increase my MEMORY clock ALOT, up to 2100Mhz, (+700mhz in afterburner)
But my core only goes up to 1500 MAX, and its not 100% stable at 1500 core.
    Powerlimit AT 122%

Is any1 sitting with a nice bios for Gigabyte g1 gaming 980?

i just figured it out on the evga forum, when u want to use overvolt u need to use overboost to make it work, however, when enableing overboost it set your volt that y set it to and does not clock down, but, when u set first your overvolt, apply, then turn overboost on,apply, then turn overvolt of,apply, now it clocks back and y can stil have higher voltage. good luck

im now at core 1567 mhz, mem 7400 mhz 1.243 volt(+18mv) with 124 power-target and 90 degree temp in PX:5.2.7.

Hi guys, I'm new here and hope I'm not too late to the party of GTX 980 owners. Due to the recent Nvidia shenanigans with the GTX 970, and partly myself not being completely satisfied playing with lower AA solutions, I decided to upgrade to the full fat 980 and wow, I'm happy; maybe I just had a bad 970 but who knows!

Anyhow, I'm encountering a slight annoyance of a bug playing through HDMI and am wondering if anyone can help. when playing games, I seem to get random crashes to desktop, and every time it happens, I notice that another HDMI sound device opens in system tray. So, I go into sound settings in control panel and disable every other sound device and start playing again. Maybe 1 or maybe 2 hours later, same thing! Second HDMI sound device enables itself again. I have tried a clean install of Nvidia drivers which seemed to fix it at first, where I got a full day's gaming without a crash, but the next day after 2 hours gaming, I got this crash again, and yes you guessed it, that darned second HDMI sound device had re-enabled itself.

Has anybody else encountered this and are there any permanent fixes? I didn't get this issue with my 970.

    Oh and sorry to go off topic of the thread. To go back on topic;

I have managed a stable overclock of actual boost core of 1503 mhz, memory at 7500 with +10mv, power target set to 122% and target temp 79C. My MSI twin frozr v fans still spin automatically and keep temps in the low 70's/high 60's so may attempt to go a little higher on the core. I read somewhere that overclocking through afterburner causes a conflict with the twin frozr fan profile, however this has not become apparent to me....yet! and I'm using the latest build of afterburner.

    980 selection question

I am spec'ing and building a new PC

    4790K
    Asus Sabertooth z97
    32GB RAM

    I have a Monoprice 28" 4k monitor

Only want to play Crysis 3 really.

Am getting Dual 980's but am having a hard time selecting them.

I am leaning towards Gigabyte G1's but could use some guidance.

Is there any reason to pay a lot for Factory overclocked?

I'll be using whatever cooler comes on the card.

After months of testing i came with the results that my G1 has nice core overclock , 1531mhz but the memory is terrible. Games will crash at some point. Even boosting AfterBurner another 200mhz over gigabyte's own overclock will lead to an eventual crash. Disappointed but at least the core gives me that bit of extra. Giving a bit higher voltage doesnt wield any real results either :3eyes:

    My ASIC is 74.8%

Aren't those Zotac 980s the ones they lock OCing to their own software or something unless you do something physically to the card?

Remember watching a video about that before choosing mine
