16hrs damn. I hope that this doesn't make it suffer the same fate as Hatred as Adult Only rating goes. I wonder what the ESRB is going to say about this.

I thought they already clarified that the game does not feature 16hours of sex scenes, but that they had made up to 16 hours worth, with not all of it making the final cut.

 

Man that is a relief because if they did have 16 hours of sex scenes they would get a AO (Adults only rating) which means they could not sell this game on PS4 or Xbox-one.

Pretty much today's perception of medieval everyday life as it seems. Not that I'd say it's bad, but that seems to be what we get presented.

 

Not really, it is just Sapkowski (his other books are quite similar). Our rich wartime national history including Crusades. Our books on that are mostly boring to read.

Sapkowski just created complex plot, a lot of people with different intents and characteristic, and mixed them into very good drink.

Basically if you make book around land and people living on it, moving to it temporarily and leaving. You'll not see much of mentioned characteristics.
But if you follow those violent, determined and motivated people around, you get all of it.

But you are right if you meant that sex, drugs and violence sells today. (and yes even in Witcher's books you will find drugs and they have big role too (or maybe you can call it faith).

 

The more imaginative modders amongst us have already done such things with Triss and Geralt in the earlier PC versions.
Nothing new in this idea.

 

As a little example I thought about Game of Thrones, whereas it's a try to bring medieval settings to the common tv watcher, and it basically reduces to a plot of deceit, betryal, different characters and what they want / try to achieve, mixed with brutality, and sex of course

 

That's very true, I liked 1st two books very much. Then quality went bit down, but still good.
In TV they make characters which will die soon less favored, so consumer is not pissed or even enjoy their death.

Most hitting was difference in Oberyn Martell, who anyone reading book considered very likable and honorable. And got pissed by his death.
But general reactions to his death in series were close to "and who was that flying circus guy?"
