Hi guys. Well My mobo is asus maximus ranger .. I bought these components like a week ago.. They are really fresh. My cpu is currently operating at 4.00 ghz .. I want to overclock it to 4.2 ghz without tweaking the voltage. So is it possible to do it without voltage settings? Can someone help me on that? Actually i dont know the bios settings& menus and tweaks . Just a few of them if anyone knows about the bios oc settings of this mobo , i'd be grateful to be guided.. Thank you

    What cpu cooler you have?
    4790k can do 4.4
Just go power options and create a power plan high performers
download cpuz so you can see all the information

It should auto OC to 4.4ghz by default, this is with Asus multicore enhancement @ auto/enabled (advanced bios menu - AI Twealer tab).

Yeah, it should already be going to 4.4 automatically. Probably with a retarded 1.3 ish voltage too. It would be better to tweak it, honestly.

No, cpu should auto boost to 4.4ghz by default on all 4 cores with this asus multi core enhancement, double check bios and set to enable instead of auto.

Same by mine, with this option enabled all my cores boost to 3.9ghz, otherwise it would to 3.7ghz full load.

So I dont need to increase it to 4.4 ghz default, the cpu boosts to 4.4 ghz when playing games such as bf4 , cod aw, watch dogs ,crysis etc.? If its like that i wont oc it

Btw there is no enable option in asus multicore enhancement. There are only 2 options which are disable and auto..

Yeah sorry, I thought I saw ROG had both options..

Then its same like by me, either auto or disabled and at auto it boots all 4 cores to max.

btw how do you know its not boosting all 4 cores to 4.4ghz?

You can check with hwinfo64 while running some application/game. E.g. try Cinebench15 multicore part and keep hwinfo64 in background. Also run in windows high perf. power plan at that time.
