when I play any kind of music or sound through the analog output jacks I get a noticeable whine type of feedback from my speakers Now at first I thought it was my videocard ,but I changed to the onboard soundcard and the whine disappeared. So I swapped the card to different pcie slots with no change.I changed the cables from the jacks to the speakers as well One thing I noticed is that if I disconnected the analog cables from the jacks ,the headphones ports made no noise my motherboard is asus x99-deluxe speaker systems is logitech z-5500 videocard is msi gtx980 4G Gaming all drivers are current and all windows updates are done I also changed my power supply as well coolermaster v1000 gold series I'm pull whatever little about of hair I left out thanks
Sounds like you may have a ground loop. For a quick test you could try isolating the soundcard pci bracket from the case with some electrical tape, so the metal part doesn't touch case ground (leave the mounting screw off).
that was it!! I put the tape along the L-bracket and the whine disappeared but now ,next problem how do I fix it? thanks
turns out it was only the addon card I took off the tape from the main card and it was still quiet what is blutac? thanks
well,I finagled it and made it look presentable, lol thanks ,I would have never though of a ground loop it's clean and quiet now although ,wouldn't that be a sound card issue as in the internal circuitry is at fault?
Cool, glad it's better now, AngerShark deserves much of the credit It could be that your MOBO board is not hovering on the fixing screws on the case. Which means, your mobo itself could be not grounded... regards, RagDoll.
I think your card's fine, possibly the ribbon cable for the H6 card picking up noise too, try re-routing it somewhere else.
I've tried moving it to different spots if I tighten and loosen the screw I can hear the whine come and go and the credit does go to you ,Thank you
