    I've been waiting for this.

    EDIT:

Well that was a good read. I may be sending Silicon Lottery some money next month. This will save me the hassle of buying a bunch of processors at once and keeping the one with the highest clock speed. I have no problem paying a little extra knowing they already have the processors binned.

Great read indeed. I need to buy a CPU Cooler for mine to test it out, thinking of getting the Noctua NH-D15 (Just need to check if it fits in my case and on my motherboard).

BTW 4.4Ghz @ 1.138v Stable with Stock Cooler, I might have a great chip. 4.5Ghz @ 1.15v... However, these clocks were for benchmarking, gaming, movies and the such (stability)... I couldn't really stress test without a cooler, scared CPU temperatures might hit too high. I'm sticking to 4.2Ghz @ 1.044v stable both for benchmarking/gaming and until I get a cooler, @ 4.2Ghz and 1.044 vcore, it's not hitting any crazy high temperatures.

Also ran through 3DMark @ 4.6Ghz @ 1.155v (but temperatures were way too high with stock cooler, so switched back to 4.2Ghz).

When can we expect part2 :the Delidding process and results? :D
great news and of course it's where everyone wants their cpu to be sitting stable.
    i'd pay the extra sure.

'devils canyon delid' you know it makes sense. :p

    Very very very interesting!!!
Thanks, for this important information, even if i'll have to wait for a new motherboard(because of my short money),i think next month i'll buy a new CPU,i don't know yet wich one,i'll see.

I was wondering how you made out with the chip.
Happy for you now 5.0 on just water :nerd:
Honestly I think its a real novel idea, dont get me wrong I like to go down to the local microcenter and get a chip or two to bin every week(with a friend or strangers help because 1 per costumer deals)and can normally sell them rather fast if not what I want.,but seems pretty hassle free

Good luck with further testing Hilbert was a great read once again
oh and like I have said before I love the looks of that motherboard but still cant find one.

I don't know where to get one of these boards, but yours will do.
It will go perfectly with my new GALAX GTX 980 HOF's.
So, e-mail me and I'll see what arrangement we can come to. :)

Great cpu review. I wonder how it would perform in games that multithread such as Metro and BF4 or it won't matter since GPU may affect it?

I wish that site existed when I had to upgrade. Would be an awesome Arma game cpu due to single threaded performance requirements.

Thanks for the great review Hilbert. I've had quite a few people ask about 5820Ks- we will have some up for sale in a few days.

They're quite reasonably priced even without a discount. A must-have for enthusiasts.

That said, I myself think I'm in the market for a Core i5 without a K. Diminishing returns, you see. Lately, I have been running my CPU at stock speed (down from an OC of 3.6 GHz) and I haven't noticed any meaningful change, even though it's 5 years old. What I'm saying is, I have a crisis of faith in overclocking :p

Oh oh oh ,this one interest me more than the 4790K,but if not, the 4790K worth it.
Thanks to you and your team.

A lottery or not, it is pretty awesome to achieve 5 GHz on i7 Haswell :)

Awesome might have to jump on this!! I got a dud of a i7-4770K can't get it any higher than 4.2Ghz. Might be worth an upgrade if I can get a 4.6Ghz to 4.8Ghz CPU that runs under 1.3v.
