Ha! Yea. If that's the latest version of Asus GPU Tweak then they are doing it wrong.

Hello and happy holidays everyone! Just got my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 5 hours ago :D

I don't hear any coil whine/s.. Anyone knows what batch or bios(?) is affected by this issue?

Running some OC'ed stability tests via Heaven 4.0..

    Currently:

    Voltage: +0
    Power Limit: 110%
    Core: +120
    Memory: +250
Custom Fan Profile. Need lower idle temps! :D

Passed 2 runs of Heaven. Will try Crysis 3 in a few hours :D

    edit:

Also ran into a minor issue. NVCP won't run. Tried reinstalling the drivers, but to no avail. Tried reinstalling but only the basic driver and PhysX are marked. Nada. Uninstalled using DDU, et voila! Worked like a charm! This never happened before as I always do clean install, but all is well now :D

I have went back and forth over the years between AMD and Nvid, who was the stronger at my new PC build..
So I went from 2 HD5950s to the 2 GTX970 Gaming... WOW was my take.. and my ole crossfire setup had not failed to run any games I was playing nicely.. but I had been keeping a few on hold, Crysis3 and Metro's cause I doubted they would.
I think you will be a happy camper.

So that got me to looking at mine out of curiosity..
seeing I am running PCI-E 3.0 cards on a 2.0 board.. wanted to see if I was leaving anything on the table..
my findings are a bit puzzling..

    Per GPU-Z 0.8.0
when I am using the cards as they are or using the supplied MSI Gaming App tool to switch between OC/Gaming/Silent.. I get
73.0GP on Pixel fill rate and 118GT on Texture Fill rate..

I thought, ok So I am leaving a bit on the table.. but Gaming and Scores don't really show it.
Then for grins I tried my AfterBurner setup I use for beaching and to my total surprise I get
83.1GP on Pixel fill rate and 135.1GT on Texture Fill rate.. :)

Officially got my card now, wasn't supposed to know what card I got but the wife uses the same password for everything :)

Can't wait to start on the wait until I upgrade list of games.

also curious how this overclocks compared to bigger brand cards.

I had an option to take the GALAX EXOC, but dat blue PCB and white backplate D:

Overall, I love the 'aggressive' black look of the G1. OC Still depends on silicon lottery, however at high OCs you might hit the TDP limit I think, only G1s have a good chuck of unlocked TDP.

I'm officially a brother, or at least I will be when it arrives. I just ordered an MSI G4 Gaming, I was going to go for the G1 Gaming but it would have been a really tight fit so I went with the MSI after seeing it gets lower temps at lower fan speeds anyway, it just lacks the backplate and has slightly lower clocks out of the box. I really can't wait, it has been too long since that new hardware smell has hit my nostrils.

    How did I do?
    http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/details.php?id=c3bq8

    Firestrike Graphics Score: 13121
    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/3596380

    ASUS STRIX GTX970
    *Power Limit 120%
    +198MHz Core (Max Boost 1527MHz)
    +556MHz Memory (Max 4064MHz)
    *Default Voltage
    *Auto Fan
    *Max Load Temperature 74C
    *ASIC Quality 74.2%

Ran Valley & EVGA Memory burner with artifact scanner for about half hour. Didn't fail.
If I do even 2MHz more on Core or Memory everything will crash and burn.
Looks like 84.0 GPixel/s Pixel Fillrate & 260.0 GB/s Memory Bandwidth is the limit for the ASUS STRIX without touching the voltage.
