Far Cry 4 Depth of Field (DOF)

    Sunset, can you please briefly explain what changes have been made in that patch ?

    I'm curious if the fps boost that everyone is talking about is because of some visual nerfing or just a ninja mipmap set to 1.

    He has said that slightly reduced the textures.

    deleted old patch because i'm working on 1.5 official patch ;)
    DOF worked only with SMAA i'm not implement it
    Next patch Increase Shadow, Lod, and Performance but i upload when i have time.. W.I.P. photo ;)

    That's what I thougt, cause I used your patch with 1.5 version and it didn't work. The game doesn't start and there's only a black screen.

    Actually, 1.5 update has solved some performance troubles. The game is smoother now with the last update from Ubisoft. Lets wait if you can improve that performance with your new patch, adapting it to 1.5 update. Hope you find the time soon, ;)

    I haven't updated to 1.5(YET!) so i'm using your "Performance Mod" with version 1.4 and it worked wonderfully.A few stutters here and there , but all in all , better than disabling MipMap solution and much better performance...Thank You for that.

    Just wanted to ask if there is any possibility of making the DOF Dynamic like in Watch Dogs for example...that would be Epic!

    dynamic DOF for now is impossible, or at least for me ;) i can implent DOF but work only SMAA mode

    Please keep DoF as an option. Even if it only works with SMAA, I would like to check it out (I only use SMAA anyway because of my mid-range card).

    Ehi sunset ci ribecchiamo :) Potresti anche pensare di rilasciare una versione di soli miglioramenti grafici, senza ridurre le textures per la parte performance della mod? Sul mio rig ho giĆ  50/60 con la patch ufficiale 1.4.0, quindi non vedo il bisogno di migliorarne le performance.

    Hey sunset, do you plan to publish a version that just improves LoD and Shadows, without having to reduce textures for the Performance part of the mod? On my rig I already got 50/60 FPS using official 1.4 patch, so I don't really care about improving performance.

    DOF is awesome...please keep it, doesn't matter if it works only with SMAA, personally I prefer SMAA...TXAA is broken in Far Cry 4, at least for me...

    DOF is impossible boys, because it works with SMAA but the other settings of antialiasing, not working

    are those for 1.4 or 1.5? I installed on my v1.4 and doesn't seem to be working :/

    Same problem for me. Strange that everyone says it only works with SMAA. For me with SMAA I can only see the HUD, the screen is all black.

    It doesn't matter if it isn't working with other settings of antialiasing, SMAA gives the best results...

    I've managed to enable the DOF myself by changing the LightingQuality="high" to LightingQuality="ultrahigh" in gamerprofile.xml (all settings on maximum, SMAA, except shadows and fur).

    But there's a issue I can't identify it yet, why when I draw my weapon the dof goes away, it appears only when the weapon is holstered, throw a rock or drive a car...
