You can mouselook but like the previous games you need to hold down MB2 for it to work.

Textures go up one step higher to a setting called "Fade Touched" :)

Not really sure why they called them that instead of something easier to recognize like Extreme or Full but it should make them a little bit sharper if you have the VRAM for it.
("Fade touched" would also be the lore term for someone that is crazy.)

It's the dream world in dao, so it's inside code for "Dreamy" textures.

980, but the Mantle numbers had me thinking to put the 290x back in, lots of work as it is running in another PC.

    Sharing my Tweaking

    Hi,

I'd like to share a bit of my tweaking on the game which I've tested and works for me pretty well.

    1) Hyper-Threading should be ON -- It doesn't really improve the FPS a lot but it does reduce the frequent of FPS drops, and by using the USER.cfg it can utilize 7 job threads so it's very well optimized.

    2) DO NOT use borderless windows mode -- at least not working for me, BSOD, long pause, sudden slow down to single digit and HANG (Not responding) etc.

    3) Cut scene FPS unlock -- go to origin and right click DAI and select game properties and copy and paste the following:
    -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

    4) RenderAhead in User.cfg set to 2 and it does increase few FPS but most importantly it almost eliminate the FPS drops while exploring around or panning the camera fast.

    FYI, Here is my user.cfg:
    GameTime.MaxVariableFps 200.000000
    PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
    PerfOverlay.Enable 1
    Render.DrawScreenInfo 1
    thread.processorcount 8
    thread.maxprocessorcount 8
    thread.minfreeprocessorcount 0
    RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 2

    Happy exploring:cheers:

Oh, well in that case...phew! Good news! :)

So basically you cap your fps to 60? I got a 144Hz monitor so I should put 144 there?

EA don't care about VPN to unlock early, support has been quoted saying that a few times.

Also, the game has an interesting bug, your gender randomly changes for speech, constantly getting referred to as "her".

    Thanks, game looks great.

Uses about 3 gigs of VRAM, 1440p, ultra+fade, no AA, 60FPS.

This game is just so huge, already bigger than anything I've seen in DA1, and that's just going south on one of the big maps.

I'm actually really enjoying this DA. MUCH better than 2 and 1. It reminds me a lot of Mass Effect 3 so far. Dragon Effect 3 seems appropriate.

Anyone else love the ability to jump and scale things like never before? Bioware did an amazing job with this engine and managed to save the series IMO

I will stay away from this thread for a while, since the game is not out for me yet (I could use VPN, but I'm pretty busy atm), but I am GLAD to read all the positive feedback, can't wait to succumb myself in the world of dragon age for many, many hours. :)

Performance for me is good considering the graphics quality. I'm maintaining 60+ FPS average with everything on Ultra and at 2351x1323 (DSR) and "low" post processing just to add a touch of AA (I don't typically need much AA on with DSR@45%smoothness). I was worried about the initial reports that "Not a single GPU can run this game @60 FPS on Ultra w/1080"... utter BS.
