Gibbo of OCUK spoke to the NVidia and the AIB partners today and at the moment there are no plans to do 8gb cards.

One of the reasons given was the high demand for the 4gb cards and a shortage of memory chips.

    Glad i waited :D

These are going to be the real high end maxwells mark my words.

    This i want d4rky is happy :)

8GB of GDDR5 memory onboard may be useful for future games, ultra-high-definition resolutions or gaming with extreme full-scene antialiasing settings

    Zucht....

Check the link dude, can u read ?

KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see how factory-overclocked 8GB versions of the GeForce GTX 980 will compare to the GeForce GTX Titan Black 6GB. While the latter has higher default graphics processing horsepower, the former has great overclockability and therefore can actually beat the former single-chip flagship graphics solution from Nvidia in ultra-high-definition resolutions where the size of frame-buffer matters.

Its not better if u can live without ultra textures, or to crank up evrything to maximum detail, but then again, some people like to play on full details like me, and some people dont like u, dont be so hard on yourself, life isnt that long you know ?

And i dont have a tree in my yard that trows money on the ground i wish xD
I just waited a very long time to upgrade to the truly high-end maxwells and i am glad i did :)

Maybe I can't crank up games to max and play at 4k resolution, but I don't need to be a rocket-scientist to see through your crap.

    You're talking some hefty bull****.

Opinions are subjective, opinions can be wrong.

Your opinion is so backwards that "false" doesn't even justify it anymore.

These double vram cards tend to be pretty oc vs a reference clock of the regular vram size card. That accounts for the higher frame rate. If you don't read carefully one can be easily fooled by this. 780 oc 6gb vs reference clock 780 3gb is a prime example. Btw your english is fine but the words you choose are cringe worthy.

I need to buy myself another video card in the next 8 weeks as I'm giving this 970 up to another PC build for xmas. I'm compelled to get myself another gtx970. I presume I should hold off until at least December to see if they do a slight refresh with some improvements. I can't imagine these cards are going to drop in price anytime in the near future.

Can this thread just die? First of all, it's just full of nonsense. Second, it's a ****ing RUMOR, and people are spouting off in here as if it's a fact.

Let them waste their money. No use arguing with the VRAM trolls in another one of these threads

No upcoming pc games will use 8Gb of Vram, because most of them are crap console ports.. let along no games on my pc uses more then 4GB of Vram.

Personally (should be safe stating that first :p), in any game I play, I must maintain a minimum of 60 fps... so for me personally, core grunt will be exhausted long before vram capacity is maxed. So for me, double vram'd cards are a complete waste, even if only a $10 premium.
