My fault then, didn't see that M letter. Sorry!

Back to topic. With 14.9.2, as some people already mentioned, my monitor doesn't turn off entirely anymore. It just stays blank like it lost signal, but its LED is still green. When I hit a mouse button, the image gets back. And this is the first time I've encountered this bug. With 14.9.1, my monitor always turned off and occasionaly couldn't wake up (AMD at its best, I suppose).

I don't know which is better: not going to sleep or not waking up from sleep. According to Google search, the problem has been here for eternity already. What is AMD doing? Have they confirmed this bug officially even once? And I repeat: AMD, WTF are you doing to fix this bug? There are dozens of similar 'monitor sleep bug' threads on every popular GPU forum... :bang:

I believe this is the problem which is causing it:

[404660]: GPU gets stuck in a low power state after it was previously stressed to max power

the Best driver for me (GB 7970 OC 1100/1600) is "AMD Catalyst 14.x RC1 (14.410.0.0 September 2) " - stability and performance are awesome!

there is enough difference in our water blocks, and room temp.
I have for many years been playing with watercooling, have complete control over my temps

You're wrong, this is another bug, e.g. when you play a game, then switch to YouTube (the clocks go down), then return to the game (but the clocks get stuck in a low power state).

And what will I achieve? I think nothing. The sleep bug has been known for years, and I can't even imagine the AMD team doesn't even have a slightest idea that their drivers aren't flawless. I believe this bug has already been reported hundreds/thousands of times.

lol, I don't think I'll be that lucky.

And that's the exact reason bugs remain in drivers for years, because people with your attitude don't bother reporting it, they just cry about it still being there build after build

Tone down a bit, will you? First, I wasn't crying, second, what word exactly from the phrase 'known for years' you didn't get? Just google 'AMD sleep bug', there's enough evidence even for the most stupid driver maker on Earth. I would certainly report if it was a rare and unknown bug but there's really nothing new.

Interestingly, this bug was almost nonexistent (or very rare) on my 280X's (I had 3 different models of them). Then I switched to 290X. Now I know how frustrating this "minor" bug can be.

BTW, I'm not switching to NVIDIA, don't offer me that. :D

So it was. Grats with the card.

Tried these drivers with CiV:BE mantle. It works well on my R9 270X 2GB, but my other PC keeps sticking on the "click to continue" page with mantle on a R7 260X 1GB.
On the other PC the mouse cursor is unresponsive with mantle, resulting that I can't click anything. DX11 works fine. Might be a problem with the 1080p nonsense via HDMI going on?

The other PC is also updated with the latest and same drivers.

    AMD X6 1075T
    ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 latest UEFI
    16GB DDR3
    R7 260X 1GB
    Windows 8.1.1 x64

Star Swarm mantle works fine btw.

Same crash problems as with all 14.9 drivers.

Lame fix considering we have an AMD rep as a member right here on G3D

Not really a lame fix. Still have to use as pixel clock patcher, still have problems with sleep\wake, still have dx9 issues etc...

Any time they get mentioned all we hear is fill out a bug report, as if it is something new. Those complaints have been around since Moses installed his all in wonder pro.

Very lame: I quote you saying:

"because amd is too lazy/stupid to read any major forum"

G3D is a major forum, and AMD is right here

If the bugs aren't being fixed after multiple AMD report form submissions, hit twitter and make your voice heard, I personally KNOW that works

Just coming here to note again that the sleep bug seems to only happen on Windows. Haven't seen it happen or reported to happen on Linux with either proprietary or open-source drivers.

I also don't recall seeing the sleep bug on Windows 10 Tech Preview; so for those daring enough, maybe try that OS out and see if it occurs or not.
