Was looking to install this tonight as a test (obviously making a backup!) and was wondering if anyone had any luck installing the current Win 8.1 Drivers? I've seen reports that they won't install as it doesn't recognise the version of Windows but surely there must be a workaround?

    Thanks

I havn't tried it, but ive read the 14.9 WHQLs are supposed to be Windows 10 ready, so not sure why they won't install.

I installed 14.9 with my 7970 cf without any problems.

You don't need new drivers for an OS heavily based on the previous one. Hell windows 7 drivers still work on 10.

I thought it was more getting them to install. I remember on the windows 8 preview that win 7 drivers didn't install even though they should have.

It totally depends on the driver. Some are easier than others, but it seems it has got better.

I have 14.8 working fine. About to install 14.9.

Some folks also just used device manager to update.

I wanted to give windwoes 10 a test run although with so many issue due to my gfx cards (r9 290x's) I need to have them 100% working stable before I even think of testing windows 10 for Microsoft lol :/

14.9 install and work fine but in Metro applications do not work very well the images and videos are not displayed correctly
and also sometimes the windows lose the snap ability on desktop

That or make a backup of your OS partitions onto another harddrive or USB stick, and make the jump risk free.

When I installed Win 10, it automatically installed 14.9 and it works fine on my Llano based laptop.
