Their new K70 RGB Fully Mechanical Gaming Keyboard on preorder costs $169.99 in the USA and £169.99 in UK what the h..l? thats like $110 more in UK for the same thing. According to their policy they should make it cost 169.99 rupees in India this would be only fair!
I'd pay it if it was spill resistant. At least that way I'd be paying for a keyboard that would last me a decade xD Just a simple, sturdy, spill resistant mechanical keyboard that's what I want. With keys that barely fade over time. I spent a ton on my HD650 Sennheiser, guess what it's still working after a decade. It's well spent if a product lasts.
Corsair sells their stuff at MSRP. The keyboard will sell for a lot less in stores once it's released.
You guys seen this one yet ? Talk about insanely price keyboards..... http://www.computerstore.nl/product...2&ref=170635&gclid=CMjbpbnHrMACFSLnwgod658AVg
I have to pay MRP for almost all PC related products so they're all rip offs for me Shop around man ... amazon is your friend.
Oh god that keyboard looks insanely ugly and those keys look pretty crappy too, they don't even look like cherry keys they look like laptop keys. This is just bad and I generally like Razer products.
I've seen this listed between $220 to $250. People at Razer must have been drunk when they created it. It's not even mechanical.
It's been like that in Canada forever. Almost EVERY product is higher priced in Canada as compared to U.S. prices. From cars to a can of paint. Everything!
Because the U.S. has way better purchasing parity than most countries. We have more people, which means lower taxes. Not to mention our import taxes are very low, unlike the UK for example. Even in Canada there's what, 13% sales tax? It's not like it's some secret plot from U.S. companies to make more money. Not to say that some companies don't abuse this (ahem, Valve, cough), but the majority of companies selling physical products are just trying to maintain a similar profit margin.
I don't know about you guys?!?! But I don't pay no more than $20 too $30 U.S. for my keyboards. I would buy a quality mouse before a quality keyboard.
Even cheap keyboards will last for several years if they're not abused. They just lack features that gamers want.
I agree with this. I actually bought and rotated through several mechanical keyboards for the typing aspect, not because of gaming features. I can type pretty comfortably at 110wpm with cherry red switches.
The only real downside to the cheap keyboards for the average user is that they tend to become flaky if you type too fast. When I was taking programming classes, I used to have to go back and correct coding mistakes from where the cheap keyboards would miss key presses.
