    Anyone know why when i try to drag the common.fat and windy_city.game.fat or dat the gibbed disrupt tools stop working? Ive followed all the steps and im stuck in this one. :(

    Edit: Nevermind :) I just had to go back a couple pages to find the answer.

    Hey Lunayah thanks for the download but when i drag and drop common.fat, windy city.game.fat and dat it still keeps crashing. Im following Kaidzat's Modding tutorial too.. *sigh* dont understand what's happening :(

    the gibbed.distupt.unpack keeps crashing?

    Try to use a short path and names to the folder "gibbed disrupt" and the folder with patches

    Hello, im suscribing to this forum because yesterday see ur pics and im trying to do what you do but i cant find the way.

    I have installed:

    Gibbed.Disrupt software to unpackage windy_city and is ok i got all the folders I have to work with this:
    "windy_city_unpack\graphics\_textures\signs" true?

    Well ...

    Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6, boths with this x86 x64 pluggins
    Photoshop_Plugins_8.55.0109.1800.exe (DDS Plugins)
    Photoshop_Plugins_x64_8.55.0109.1800.exe (DDS Plugins)
    Result: I cant open dds files ¬¬

    Sagethumbs (to see DDS thumbnails)
    Result: Not showing nothing ¬¬

    XnViewer (to see DDS thumbnails)
    Result: Not showing nothing ¬¬

    dds_converter_v21
    Result: When select a dds file "Convert" button keep greyed (unable to apply) not convert a **** ¬¬

    DDS nVidia Utilities and DDS Viewer from nVidia too.
    I read that not works on Win 7 ... thats true, dont work for me ¬¬

    I tried this with re renamed extension xbt to dds
    Not works ...
    If edit the file and quit the first part and leave DDS (i see that on previosu pages of this topic)
    Not works ...

    I download Notepad ++ with a pluggin XBMC (i read that works to extract images from xbt textures files).
    NOT WORKS

    Im driving me crazy try to edit a damn sign !!!

    Can your or someone tell me what software can i use on Win 7 64Bits and maybe a little guide step by step for idiots to edit these signs ?
    I really need help here :bang:

    Hot and Gerard, a lot of thx guys, u really helped.

    Now i found the textures i want to change but have questions.

    i see "the same texture" got this names:
    (There are 2 files in the most of cases with same texture and different size)

    Example:
    07_adsconstrbridge_d
    07_adsconstrbridge_d_high

    The question is ...
    07...d and 07...d_high are 2 textures refering to the same object (posters/signs in X place) and i have to edit both?

    Or just are diferent sizes for diferents posters/signs
    i mean, if change only 07...d texture, the places that have the big "high" propaganda still showing the old texture (what i not replaced)?

    Or both files refers to object in some X place, but 07...d_high file is used when u have graphics setting in "high o ultra" and 07...d file is used when u play in medium and low?

    Im asking because need to know if i need modify both files or just one.

    And by other way, what a about some files with pinkyish textures ???
    Why i see them in this way? if in game looks "normal"
    is some alpha channel ? or what ? (maybe for translucent effect and see some light behind the sign???)

    How can edit this images without lossing the pink thing ?
    Or maybe can put a [normal "solid" coloured] image replacing the pinky one and dont worry about that ?

    I modified this files (from the example), they are ok, but how to use Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack.exe tool?

    I did this:

    Open a CMD console and wrote:

    C:\DISRUPT\bin\Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack.exe C:\DISRUPT\bin\windy_city

    [** windy_city is the renamed folder windy_city_unpack with all the files unpacked before with Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.exe i renamed just for get a file with the name "windy_city.dat" when pack it again **]

    ... and press ENTER, the program works, take a time to finish, the problem is what the generated windy_city.dat generated has doubled the size of the original.

    Original y 5.. Gb ... and the new 11.. Gb ... ?????? whats wrong ??????

    I tried use that file ... game stuck in loading screen hehe. HELP PLEASE :)

    The size after unpacking windy_city.dat and windy_city.fat is 11GB.(you need to unpack both with Gibbed.Disrupt.unPack.exe)Or you will have problems.

    You can unpack/repack all the files you need from folder : \data_win64\.(total size unpacked 20GB)No need to use cmd console.

    1a.For unpacking files from folder \data_win64\. Drag and drop the files .dat and .fat on:Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack in Disrupt folder(EG: Output file for patch.dat and patch.fat will be patch_unpack)

    b.After you modify your files.Repacking files is done by, drag and drop see above(EG:patch_unpack ) on:Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack in Disrupt folder
    (output file will be patch_unpack.dat and patch_unpack.fat)Rename these files to patch.dat and patch.fat.Replace modified files in \data_win64\ to test modified files in game.

    c.For RML unpack/repack Drag and drop files on:Gibbed.Disrupt.ConvertXml in Disrupt folder

    d.For obj/lib files unpack/repack Drag and drop files on:Gibbed.Disrupt.ConvertBinaryObject in Disrupt folder

    Of course there are files that need extra tools to use ,but 99% people do not need the tools.

    2a.For modding textures for game(Convert XBT files To DDS files and Back to XBT Files works fine for watch dogs)

    b.If you want to modify signs,you can goto your windy_city_unpack\graphics\_textures\signs and modify them as you wish and then just place them in patch_unpack\graphics\_textures\signs You do not have to repack the windy_city_unpack its too big to keep repacking.(use the patch.dat and patch.fat to modify the game)

    Files you may want to modify after unpacked
    generated\databases\generic
    graphics\_textures
    \engine\settings


    Installation:

    Place the patch.dat and patch.fat in your \data_win64\ folder.
